I’m hopeful this collaboration with BMG will work well, but I’m surprised there has never been a connect with BBC Introducing before... Perhaps there might be record label issues, but I thought all/most of the acts are unsigned?

You have a pool of exciting new talent, that would seriously benefit from the exposure to millions of viewers. I doubt we’d send a bad entry and would start to consistently build reputable results... the UK could easily position itself like Italy and start to clock up tops 5s and contend to win (without the fear these days the BBC might have to host consecutively!)...

Anyway, food for thought... I’m looking forward to this year’s reveal!

Until the entry is revealed, you can only hope its a decent song that will do well.

Well last year we came last, only way to do worse would be to get nil points or not show up at all.

Well to be fair we have BMG on our sides along side the BBC, so plenty of people to spread the blame to if it turns out to be a stinker!

I'm about as excited for this to be announced as I would be waiting for a smelly wet fart in July. I feel there is a similar feeling amongst all countries of the United Kingdom and also the member states of the EU and even the rest of Europe. Finally SOMETHING to unite us all! HURRAH!:love::love:

I really couldn't remember who represented UK last year ... I had to type this one into youtube. I guess this shows how forgettable it was.

Apparently a submitted song:

Yeah I am not sure about that, I checked the description and it got flagged for copy write. The original version of the song came out in 2015 or there abouts. I am fairly certain you can't submit songs to Eurovision that came out before the December before the contest. Unless this was never fully 'released'.

EDIT:

The "Leak" Version of the song has been taken down. Cue rampant speculation and baseless theorising! WOOOOO!

EDIT 2pm GMT:

Okay, now the "Leak" Version is back up again. I did a search online for Roubix, the artist who made this version and there is no mention of them on Youtube or on Google at all. So... erm... I am confused, its like this page, this act and this cover just willed itself into existence.

EDIT 4PM GMT:

So I did some more digging (as today I seem to be some kind of internet detective) and the 'leak' may well have been done by someone who has a good few years experience working within the British television industry (I won't links due to respecting privacy). IF this is/was one of the songs in the running then the question is; why would someone with that level of experience leak information that may end up damaging their career? If indeed it is real and/or they even leaked it and it wasn't someone else Doxxing them or something

I know I am dwelling on this a lot but I'm bored and I really want to know who its representing is like yesterday!

Well if it was uploaded in 2015 then surely it's ineligible anyway even if it is a link. I just saw it on another forum and thought to post it here. It does make you wonder if it's been uploaded from someone within the Industry, but we can't be sure considering anyone could just make an account under that name.

Well the original version of the song was uploaded in 2015 (though not by the artist who originally made it nor the artist who made this version). So unless they are trying to twist the rules some how (it might have been uploaded but never fully released so maybe they'd try to justify it like that? Or the fact it has a different name to the original version maybe they think that would work?) to try and get it into the contest or it was simply one that was on the list then turned down as soon as they looked into it and saw it would break the rules.

As I said in my last post there is evidence to suggest that it might have been uploaded by someone in the industry (which again I don't want to post as it contains the person in question's personal details) but it could just be coincidental.

But, goodness, if this is indicative of the kind of quality we could expect from the UK this year then it sounds good to me.
