UK's issue is never the choice of artist. Look at the top fives in past years and count the idol show rejects. Duncan, Salvador and Måns were all talent show nobodies. Past successes don't factor into who scores well and who does not.

No, if the UK flounders about like a dead fish once more, it will be due to the broadcaster's blatant fucking incompetence and that's the gospel truth.

True. Even among the UK acts from the last few years, it's often been pointed out that the likes of Surie or Michael Rice are good singers. But if they get straddled with an average lifeless and dated song that they have no connection with, it's hard for anyone to stand out.

BREAKING: Tweet just sent from Sam Bailey.

Just said its not her.

Panic over.

To which she's directing the "don't worry"? Her fans or the ones who fear that she actually could represent the UK?
And what does it even mean to say : don't worry, it's not me. Sounds like going to Eurovision is some airplane crash where people worry if you were on board.

True in some regard, but it's never really clean cut as that is it? For one your artist needs to have some level of charisma and stage presence. If they look and act like a damp cloth on stage then it's going to negatively impact it. She isn't a talent show reject considering she won, but she went literally nowhere straight after that win. We have A LOT of unknown music and unknown artists here in the UK that people love to constantly point out while slamming the BBC, we don't need to constantly go digging around talent shows no one watches anymore.

I dunno, I think that is clutching at straws a little, maybe she simply means she is about to launch a new album and or single and tour and the storm just means she is gonna get really really really busy?

I think it's going to be Fleur East. Also she did a piece for The One Show last week and they introduced her as a new member of The One Show family and said she knows how to belt out a catchy number lol.

British self deprecation sense of humor? Or could it also be influenced by the British perception of Eurovision as something of a joke competition? :)

Personally I find it kind of amazing that the most exciting thing to happen with the UK at Eurovision recently is people getting alarmed that it might be someone and then that someone confirming that they aren't doing it

I don’t understand why she is touring though, she has one song :ROFLMAO:, at least Eurovision would have given her another song for her (likely short) setlist
