I'm happy with the result this year generally... I did think before tonight though that if the UK come below 20th we should give it a break for a while and leave... It won't happen but I stand by that idea.

We've actually come a place lower than Electro Velvet did, and I feel like that is a massive injustice. I didn't expect anything more than bottom 5, but what an awful way to flop. At least the juries liked us a bit, and especially Malta. xheart

what the hell Europe??? Okay, it wasn't winning material.. but 24th?? At least the juries liked us. I'm so disappointed, and I can already tell the UK press will spin this as 'europe hates the uk!!!!1' and Brexit campaign will probably use this too now

Nice sounding pop song, no reason to be ignored. Can't say the performance was bad either. Maybe the staging could have been more in keeping with the others, that's the only reason I can think for it getting low points.

Do you know what disappoints me most about this? Its the fact they embraced the entire competition, and we haven't had that in a long, long, time. Even Molly I felt was using it as a stepping stone for her career and wasn't as involved as Joe and Jake were. They genuinely loved it.

Okay, maybe the song wasn't great... but I think they deserved to do a little better.

I'm really saddened for them. :(

Didn't expect the UK to do that badly, but the song was terrible, despite the good performance. I said Electro Velvet was a better overall package, and that seems to have been true.

I'm not sure where the UK go from here.

Kudos to the UK jury for giving Georgia 12. One of my favourites.

For the UK, I'd say look into Australia's strategy. Second year in a row they have finished in the top 5. Novelty may or may not be a factor, but both Guy and Dami Im had strong vocals on their side. Dami literally sat down for 2/3 of her performance. Strong vocals alone can carry you, along with a very catchy or meaningful song.

I don't want every song just belting out a huge vocal though. I think it was a very decent pop effort.

Joe and Jake deserved top 15 for their performance, it's just annoying the televoters sunk them. I loved our twelve points to :ge:!!
