Re: TURKEY 2016

Oğuzhan Koç shared his interest in representing Turkey in Eurovision with media a few weeks ago.

I hope not, i'm sick of him and his "always funny" squad. Not when we have names like Atiye, Bedük, Mabel Matiz etc.

I agree that Bedük would be a better choice but the other two can't sing well in my opinion. I wouldn't mind Oğuzhan if TRT wants to send a fun pop song.

Now, that's a must. TRT needs to put their ass in EBU and send this talent to Eurovision to rock the stage.

Re: TURKEY 2016

The country turned into a sh*thole with the latest PKK attacks. We lost more than 100 soldiers and policeman in the last two months, plus a lot of civilians living in the warzone had lost their lives. We also have early elections coming up. TRT wouldn't dare to make a comeback and announce it atm unless EBU stretches the deadline or sth.

You can add "not taking part" to the title already. With all the awful things going on in the country, Eurovision is the last thing Turks can think about right now :(

Re: TURKEY 2016

We all have time to decide about participation till October.

My statement was rather a reaction to the described situation of the country. As far as I remember, Turkey already announced their plans to participate already in spring this year, so until further notice that says the opposite, I consider them to be in.

I always have been wondering about such a statement. I mean, it's not like Turkey, but TRT doing the job. And TRT's job is not to deal with immigrants and other issues, but to broadcast programmes. There other authorities to deal with "everything that happens in Turkey right now" ;)

You're right, it is what should happen "normally" but Turkey is not a normal, ordinary country for a long time.
We don't even have a proper government for months, there will be elections again (like Greece) because Erdogan didn't like the last results! Immigrants, terror attacks, horrible economy and other stuff.
Erdogan the Dictator wouldn't even think about a song contest. AND since TRT is the official channel of Erdogan, they will do whatever he says. I mean he sued journalists for being terrorist just because they criticized him

BUT maybe TRT decide to participate again so that they can distract people from what's going on. My only hope is that now xwait

You are right, Turkey is always in a potential mess. I mean, I remember an article I read in 2012 about Can Bonomo's representing Turkey. A mass was against him because he was originally Jewish or something like that. I mean... So what? Eric Saade (Sweden 2011) has Lebanon origins, Tooji (Norway 2012) has Iran origins and even Israel sent a song that was in Hebrew, Arabic and English at the same time by an Arabic origins singer (Mira Awad, 2009). And all representers I mentioned were chosen by televote. But people have too much bias on people in Turkey. They think representer must be pure Turkish blah blah.

Ok  With everyone saying "welcome back Turkey", I thought they had confirmed or something. Well, it's the contrary eventually!
