Re: TURKEY 2016

Aleks was probably talking about that Syria-Turkey-Russia friendship triangle whose height is ISIS.

How do you know Aysun Gültekin? She's one of my mother's favorite folk music singers.

I watched FANTASTIC Turkish/German movie by Kutlug Ataman - "The lamb"/ "Kuzu" from 2014 Berlin film festival..and there I saw little boy Mert singing "Erzincanam girdim ne guzel baglar", later I typed at youtube that title and found Aysun Gultekin performing it.. xlove xheart

Turkish culture is MARVELOUS!! xkiss xheart xlove

OMG :D Thank you for your nice words xheartNo, actually my grandmother is an immigrant from Bulgaria & my grandfather is from Crimea, Russia. But my mother loves Turkish folk music. I like it too, I prefer Thracian and Aegean folk though. Eastern Anatolian music is too dark for me, the lyrics are usually so sad etc.

Last year I went to the concert of Aysun Gültekin with my mother. Got bored with the songs but she's really good live! Her voice is very powerful.

Cool that you grandfather is from Crimea, Ukraine. Not a big fan of Aysun Gültekin myself though.

Black Sea music is great, I prefer ballads from there not uptempo songs. There is an instrument called "tulum" and it sounds like bagpipe. Also there is "kemençe" which is also played by Greeks. I love how different cultures can have similar music :)

Anything but victory is failure. It's Turkish logic.

It's not about that, don't generalize me. She heightened our expectations so much, having lots of money from sponsors but spending none of those into her ESC performance, also she couldn't sing. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, trust me Everyway That I Can is one of my least favourite ESC performances.

I didn't mean "you" specifically :) It's really the Turkish logic.

Hadise is an average pop singer who can't sing. Never had high expectations of her myself anyway :) And with that horrible belly dancer outfit, dated tune, bad voice, that blinding red theme; 4th was a miracle.

So last news? Whats the last day for participates?

I think it was a couple of weeks back, but that a few countries with special circumstances can still join if they decide to? Not sure if there's any particular date on that though.

It is supposed to be until the end of the month.
The undecided countries are Turkey,Croatia,Bosnia-Herzegovina and Lebanon.

You can cut out Lebanon and Morocco. The chances that they would participate are zero.

Re: TURKEY 2016

Since AKP has win again (even if they did it by stealing votes), i see a light of hope for 2016.

I think the same thing, AKP (Erdogan), have won the election, will now be content and happy and decide to participate.

AKP has been winning for the last 13 years but we haven't participated since 2012? And do we even have time?

Bitch, I'm tired of Turkey going on and off. They even said they wanted before the 2015 competition was over now and now they take it all back. Not really surprised bc it's Turkey
