Wow - Nadine Beiler has such a great voice! She can be thankful to have a vocal coach like Robin D.!

Yeah I know. I think it might be because Cyprus ALWAYS gives 12 to Greece, whilst Norway has more choice, so to speak. But Norway equally deserved boos.
Rotating your 7-12 among the same 4 countries (if all 4 neighbours make it to the final) every single year is worse than simply swapping 12-pointers with another country. Because then you're only locking 12 of your points, instead of 37 of your points!

Some of the countries had sound problems
Bosnia
Denmark
UK
France

Same here.
Technicians forgot to give Mika an earphone so they couldn't start her playback that's why we had such long delay. Nevertheless she didn't look nervous because of that.
Amaury seemed really distracted because of problems with sound.

I agree. What I was saying is that by spreading the votes like that, it perhaps isn't as easily noticed, hence why Cyprus was booed and Norway wasn't.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the show (both the semis show and the final one) even though there were some unexplained mistakes, but nothing is perfect I guess. Germany organized a great ESC, the stage was one of the best ones ever, that's for sure, and the hosts (especially Anke :D) were great. As for the voting, this is indeed the strangest ESC year and I am totally shocked about the results in general. This is the first year where all of my faves flopped or finished in the middle while some songs I totally overlooked ended up in top 10. Azerbaijan has a decent song although this never had the sound of a winning entry to me. Maybe because it doesn't stand out like all the other winners before (mostly) but congratulations for the victory anyway, and it will be really interesting to see ESC in Baku next year :)

Italy was the biggest surprise for me. Actually, I disliked the song with passion before, but it got me going just before ESC. Now I actually realize what kind of a masterpiece this is, and what I have missed. Maybe they got a bit higher position than they should have, but their success was way deserved. I'll keep listening to this song.

Sweden is terribly overrated imo. Erick just can't sing for life, and it sounded like it was sung by back vocals only! I am surprised that the juries didn't have ears to push it down a bit.

Ukraine was fantastic on screen, and with the sand animation the song gets a totally new dimension. I didn't expect such a high place, but well done.

Denmark deserved their result as the song is great and they performed with a lot of energy and really well.

That was for the big 5, and about the flops, UK was terrible, even though it was my favorite, and with such bad and amateurish performance, this result is more than fair. France also looked bad, and as soon as he finished singing I knew it was going to fail. Now, Estonia's fail is really surprising :? Almost like Xandee in 2004. I thought that the worst it can get is be 11-12th place, but 24th I never imagined it would be. She didn't perform perfectly but I liked the act and can't find a single reason why it failed, but that the audience obviously didn't like the entry and that is why it failed. Switzerland coming last is also a huge injustice.

I am satisfied with the Serbian result, even though I think we should have ended a bit higher too. Very happy about the Moldovan and German results too (both had amazing performances, especially Germany :D That is the best choreography of this ESC by far)

See you in Baku next year :D

You said it all for me, thank you.

No, it's just pure hypocrisy. How hard can it be to notice that the Nordic Nations keep swapping points when it happens every year?!

@FallenAngelII... Nobody's gonna give points to someone if we dislike their entry ;)
Norway and Turkey managed to get through our "lock", wo why is it impossible to someone else?
Why saying "worse"? If it's being predictable - yes, it sucks. If you talk about taste - then no, we aren't guilty in having our own taste. Just like other countries which exchange points with their neighbours.
It's not our fault that Ukraine is the 2 nd biggest country by square in geographical Europe with the biggest amount of neighbours, it's not our fault that we have ex-Soviet friends (who do not give us high points all the time btw) )))) It's not our fault that they send the best (in our opinion) entries.
Definitely not "worse"

Send something which appeals to us (like Rybak, for instance or maNga) and receive your 8 or 10, or maybe even 12.

That's why I dislike those "cultural" Europeans in the 1st rows (that comes from certain delegations and OGAEs actually) who boo the choice of the whole countries.
Our entry didn't appeal to Western audience, at all... we didn't boo Western countries  We didn't boo them for rewarding their neighbours.

Hi everyone, I'm back!!!

Duesseldorf was so much fun and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to watch it in person. Congratulations to Azerbaijan, I personally don't like it but at the same time the results as a whole are totally the opposite of my taste (my top 5 all on the right side of the board).

I can't wait to watch the Show on TV now.

Votes were actually that weird that some people suspect a conspiracy  . Every time I think about Ukraine entry, this conspiracy-theory appeals to me xrofl3

@ AlekS

What you say about taste is another discussion. What I said above and FallenAngelII commented on it, has to do with the fact that although other countries exchange votes on a constant basis (which definitely becomes predictable), we and Cyprus are the only ones that get booed. The "taste" argument doesn't apply to us? I don't see any difference to what other countries that participate in blocks do. So, why only Greece/Cyrpus get booed? Why this discrimination?

Wow, what a great show in Düsseldorf! An amazing event and a great opening. Stefan Raab an Lena rocked the arena. Congratulations to Azerbaijan, a nice pop-ballad, but i didn´t expect the first place.
Lena shouldn´t be sad, it was a great occurs, but not the right song for a competition like the ESC - but no risc no fun ;).

I personally enjoyed the final very much:):D
We had very nice selection of songs + performers and the Germans gave very nice program to watch, too.

The results where very interesting and surprising:geek:, but at least we did not know the winner already halfway in to the result like we did back at 2009..or something like that:?
I was fine with Azerbaijan winning:):az:
It was fine performance, though maybe not my personal favorite. They have been close to the 1st place before..and now was their time to win.
Some are upset, because this particular song won.
I grant them their annoyance and opinion, because I felt somewhat the same about last years winner:oops:
Eurovision is full of emotion, luckily mostly positive:D
I would advice you however not judging the whole ESC badly because you did not like the winner.

I think this year we saw lots of very talented singers in the Eurovision, And I even dare to say that music wise this was one of the best Eurovisions:mrgreen:
We also seemed to have more favorites for winning the contest than ever before. I think that was very positive thing indeed:cool:
All the songs in the contest had their supporters, that was nice to see, also.

Most of my favorites did well( Ukraine, Slovenia and Bosnia) but some did not( Hungary, Bulgaria and Norway).
I am happy for all the artists, who gave their best:D

Personally this years ESC gave me tons of fun, good music and excitement.
Thanks to the contest I have again discovered new wonderful European artists,
whose careers to follow and music to listen/buy.
xmusic
(This is one of the parts about the contest I really like)
I have also enjoyed very much chatting, writing and debating with my fellow Eurovision fans.
Following the contest would not be the same without you, my fellow fansxhug

Thank you Dusseldorf and Germany for hosting a great ESC!:de:
Special thanks to all of the artists/singers from all of the countries! Thank You!xfruits:xballon
xthank
