I'm a finnish voter/follower of esc 2011. I'm very glad that Azerbaijan won. Yet I'm mad at Armenians or secret Armenians (undercover diaspora with European names and/or pretending to be europeans) cannot admit the reality that their track sucked bad. They should congradulate their neighboard instead of bashing them such as "ohh nooo it was a horrible entry, howcome they won" and "oh noo who the heck goes to azerbaijan next year? no I wouldn't".
As a Finnish, I'm full supporter of Azerbaijan from now on and yes, I will visit Azerbaijan next year.
Stop the ugly fight and admit the fact.

They totally earned it.
And armenia has totally totalled!

I'm very sorry if it was too mean.

ohhhhhh greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat thanks for such words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we really apreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!! xkiss

Hm, I totally did not expect these results! Interesting to see Sweden do so well (good!), while others like Hungary and Estonia failed so badly, even Russia had underwhelming results. Of the big 5 I thought UK and France would do better and never expected Italy to come second! And poor Anna Rossinelli coming last? She really deserved much, much better. Denmark came fifth, which is far from bad, but I hoped they'd come at least top 3 (maybe would have if they'd had had a better draw).

About the winner, it was one of my least favourite songs and the performance was nothing special (he sounded great, she not so much). But ah well, Europe's taste is very different from mine apparently! :D So congratulations anyway, Baku it is for next year!

The most political voting ever. Let us remember the good songs and the show of this contest, not the voting.

Eurasian song contest!!!! ******************** you EBU!!!!

It isn´t the first time, that the show will be hosted on non European soil. Just remember that Israel is also not a part of Europe.

If Ukraine sent a Slavic song and Western peeps didn't like it as well as Western bookies it doesn't mean that the song was bad. If you don't understand it - thats' your taste. But insert your "Eurasian song contest" crap as deeper as you can.

I'd like to thank Germany for hosting the best final ever. Even despite technical difficulties in the 1sts emi this ESC had the best production.

xthank Slavic countries (ex-USSR and Balkans), Greece, Italy and Turkey ))) I'm happy that I'm not the only one who understands such music.

I already can't wait for ESC in Baku :p

I read all the comments and I want to say something that I believe..it was a special year,it's a big difference from last year (well,Svante left esc so there should've been some diffreneces)...there were many great songs, the first half better though and some great songs in the second (especially the winner )....I think it was a decent winner, but this year the comments would've been the same if the winner was Sweden,Bosnia &Herzegovina,Denmark,Austria,Slovenia etc. And I think we talk too much about the vote,I should say last night it was a great show,I liked the stage, and the best thing was that when the results were announced, there was that heart beating that made you anxious.Congrats to all countries,I felt great, indeed Eurovision night it's one of the most beautiful nights in the netire year for me :) I think that if Sweden would've performed 20th for example,or instead Aze,it would've won.The draw was also important.Congrats Azerbaijan, you always sent great songs and you deserved it :)

+I found this:
EBU have a big task on their hands. There's about 5 issues they need to deal with before they can allow Azerbaijan to host..
* The safe admission of people from all countries (whether Armenia WANT to participate or not, will be another issue)
* Time of the show - if it begins at midnight, the last participant won't perform until 2:45am....
* Suitable venue - their existing venue simply is not big enough - they will need to build a new one..
* International flights - they're extremely expensive and a lot of flights will need to be via. places like Istanbul or Frankfurt
* Hotels - EBU have a quota of like 12,000 beds a city needs to have available..

what do you think?

As far as I know, no matter the host country, Eurovision always starts broadcasting at the exact same time every single year (at least for the recent past). I don't think they magically changed the start time when Israel hosted the country in 1999, for example. Yes, it will be late in the host country, but that's something that you have to live with in a contest comprising of, what, 5 time zones?

I see this as hysterics. I don't think there will be much of a problem, and a lot of it has come from a European chauvenist viewpoint. For instance, when Greece hosted the contest there was not a single mention of concerns to do with the admission of Turkish or Northern Cypriot fans, and the same when Turkey held the contest. So why all of a sudden this becomes the key issue is a bit of a bizarre one for me.

Azerbaijan has already accepted EBU's contract.

*Al-Qaeda planned to commit an explosion on ESC, Germany wasn't that safe too as appeared.
Safety will be provided. This is their international image in front of more than 40 countries. Not a big problem.

* Time of the show - it will be set earlier, obviously. Maybe on 1 hour, maybe on 2.

* Suitable venue - Olympic Stadium. If I'm not mistaken its renovation hasn't started.

* International flights - Last year we had to go to Norway via Denmark so it won't be that expensive + I bet that all visas will be canceled (like in Kyiv in 2005) so it will be easier for all delegations.

* Hotels - for such big city like Baku it won't be a problem.

Not think that just *maybe* some people liked the songs of their neighbours? All the regional whiners need to get a grip.

About last night, all show was amazing. Stage, hosts, production, songs.
I'm really disappointed only with low position for Switzerland and Spain, and too with Sweden high placement (absolutely undeserved), and voting was very predictable.

And I'm really fine and happy with Azerbaijan winning.
And I really hope that Safura not be a host next year! Please guys just don't put her on hosting position
