+I found this:
EBU have a big task on their hands. There's about 5 issues they need to deal with before they can allow Azerbaijan to host..
* The safe admission of people from all countries (whether Armenia WANT to participate or not, will be another issue)
* Time of the show - if it begins at midnight, the last participant won't perform until 2:45am....
* Suitable venue - their existing venue simply is not big enough - they will need to build a new one..
* International flights - they're extremely expensive and a lot of flights will need to be via. places like Istanbul or Frankfurt
* Hotels - EBU have a quota of like 12,000 beds a city needs to have available..

what do you think?

I will find a place for the event without any doubt. The problem with Armenia is a good point about this: They forced to find a way to handle this. Maybe the ESC event is a very good thing. Flight can be charted in advance of this event. Shouldn`t be a problem. And the starting time is actually mainly a problem for Aserbaijan, because CET would mean one hour past midnight for Aserbaijan. So I expect the event to be started one hour earlier. Actually, this would be a very good thing. Why not starting 8 CET?

I just want to say the show was amazing,i enjoyed every minute of it,everyone was awesome, hosts, contestants and all those people in there.
I am ok with the winner Azerbaijan even if wasnt my absolute favourite, but I love that song anyway so congrats.I am happy about Sweden coming on the 3rd place and sad about UK getting such a low placement. These were my 2 favourites so I would have been more than happy if one of them won.
I am also kinda sad about Romania getting such a low placement, but I have to be fair, there were so many great songs so I expected all this even if i wanted to believe in a higher placement.
I am pissed off about Moldova...they sucked and they had a too high placement.I am also surprised about Denmark,I couldnt expect such a good place for them.
Good job Italy even if I didnt like the song...great welcome back gift for them.
All in all I enjoyed the show and hope to see next year in Azerbaijan a show at least as good as in Germany!xheart

I didn't see that coming, I really didn't. Azerbaijan won? Really? Lithuania higher than Hungay? Estonia 24th? Italy 2nd? Switzerland last? Well, I'm happy for Italy, they Raphael was great, but I didn't like Azerbaijan that much, in my opinion it sounded quite calculated and I hardly even noticed them at the night. And still, they are a decent winner.

But the biggest surprise of the night was that we gave no points to Russia (hahaha at them). I mean, there are 30% of Russians here, and they obviously didn't vote for themselves. How could it happen? We've never given them less than 8 points and now it's 0.

And I can't see how this can neighbouring voting since Azerbaijan has some 4 neighbours, and they got points from almost all countries (except some countries and their neighbours, Armenia, but that's the conflict thingie going on). It might've been political, but I don't think so. This was just the right song at the right place and right time. Congratulations, Azerbaijan!

11 countries didn't give Azerbaijan points (mainly Western countries). For a winner, that's quite a lot! I don't mind that Azerbaijan won (although I personally feel there were quite a few stronger entries). But yes, congrats Azerbaijan :)

I see this as hysterics. I don't think there will be much of a problem, and a lot of it has come from a European chauvenist viewpoint. For instance, when Greece hosted the contest there was not a single mention of concerns to do with the admission of Turkish or Northern Cypriot fans, and the same when Turkey held the contest. So why all of a sudden this becomes the key issue is a bit of a bizarre one for me.

Because Armenian nationals are banned from entering Azerbaijan :).

I hoped Finlande wins. I liked it.
Also B & Herz., Switzerland.
Like songs with good sence.
Switzerland girl was nice. It was pleasure to watch her.
So
1 - Finland
2- Switzerland
3- B& Herz
4- Denmark
5- Serbia

As I liked

Because they are still at war. You have never raised the issue of diplomacy, to my knowledge, with regards to the Turkish Cypriot question, so why double standards?

I just checked Youtube and noticed that lot of Azerbaijan videos have more dislikes than likes

1) dislikes from people who hate the song
+
2) dislikes from people who hate the country
+
3)dislikes from Armenians (I think it's obvious, no need to explain)

I know its hard from you, but let's try and get past the simplistic logic complex, eh?
International relations has very few perfect and absolutist examples, so a little critical thinking and knowledge usually helps speed things along. The diplomatic question was raised in Turkish hosting where Cyprus was attempted to be rebranded as the 'Greek Administration of Northern Cyprus'. The same in exploration attempts by the likes of Lebanon to entrer the contest and its relation with Israel. You'll also of course be aware of the extended negotiations around security in the event around the 1999 Contest.

Yet where was the outburst there? Where was the questioning of a country's ability to hold the contest, by yourself for instance? I'm not interested in the furour that goes around bankrupt orientalist politics.

Im not even discussing such issues as they are political and should not be expressed here.
I've never questioned Azerbaijan's ability to host the contest, I've merely said that the EBU must ensure that Armenia are not forced to withdraw. They're legitimate Eurovision contestants and must be allowed to continue to participate for as long as they wish to.

...yet directly related to the running of the Song Contest. It's not that difficult to understand. A cynic might comment that you simply have no answer to this.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, seeing as the question has direct corrolation to the contest.

What can I say, one of the worst winners in a while and it shows - gathering the least amount of points since the introduction of the semi-final with the most countries taking part. Bland song, bad performance... The rest of the top 7 was pretty bad, too, apart from Italy & Ukraine who surprised. ;) I voted twice for SWITZERLAND & Serbia and once for Ireland & Hungary. Mostly disappointed for my faves, though what can you do. Too bad Belgium couldn't make it to the final (1 point...). I'm happy with us being 6 points away from qualifyinf but WTF at Poland being last.

Yet, I didn't hear any booing, just when Cyprus gave us the 12 points. What a hypocrisy....
