Well come with a full statement of what happened then EBU because FUCK this

heartbroken for everyone involved
I'm supposing they can't give more details because of the police investigation.
For him personally, I think it''s better that it isn't made public that he hit a woman.
But yes, whole situation sucks.

I’ve never liked Europapa but I totally respected those that liked it and wanted it to win. It’s a messy situation whatever has happened.

A shame really but if Joost has hit/hurt, threatened or intimidated someone he cannot be allowed to perform.

It’s the right decision. It’s not a nice one, but it’s the right one.

And if he did and was allowed to perform tonight. Would that be right? No.

People are going to lose all perspective on this I am sure.

If there’s an investigation there is no way he could perform. You’d be undermining the investigation and sending out one shocker of a message to his alleged victim.

AVROTROS finds the decision "disproportional" and is "deeply shocked by the decision".
This has two sides apparently.

Fuck the EBU

Full disclosure: I know people who were there when it happened.
He punched a woman in the face. Do you really believe EBU would DQ him if it wasn't serious?
If only the media present would talk with the staff there, things could come out in the clear.
But I suppose the Dutch delegation has asked that the details not be specified.
And yes, I agree that EBU needs to improve their communication skills.

I'm sorry you guys :'( I loved the song and would have voted for it.

Hope he's getting support!

And what if he didn't and the investigation turns out to be that he didn't doing anything wrong and it's just one person unfairly accusing him? Then he's stripped of his Eurovision experience for NOTHING

It shouldn't matter whats better for Joost personally. If he hit a woman, he doesn't deserve to have that hushed away. But AFAIK the police investigation involves threats.

We simply don't know shit either way yet.

That’s the point of an investigation Oscar. You investigate.

If he is cleared, that’s fine with me. But if he is found to have been inappropriate then it will need sorting.

You seriously cannot think a man under investigation can perform tonight surely?

Idiot. If that is true, good riddance.

My condolences to the Dutch. I didn't like your entry much, but this is several magnitudes worse than a non-Qualification.

Yessss, safe flight back to Amsterdam Mr jost klein.. :) no assault of any type, either physical or verbal should be condoned or acceptable. He didn't come in malme to sing, but to be rude and unprofessional. Bye bye ..
