I don't know why he sounds so exhausted when singing. It takes down the chances of a Dutch victory, though it is quite entertaining; it was a sure qualifier and I don't expect a bad televote result in the final either.

It's hilarious that they chose the last part for the recap. :ROFLMAO:
As far as the staging is concerned, I think it was a mistake to give it such a joke-entry staging. This will cost them jury points for sure. A more moderate staging shouldn't have harmed them in the televote but would have meant more jury points.

What do you think a "serious" staging for this song would have looked like?

It's obvious this has its fans, I'm glad many enjoyed it. I kind of came around to this pre-contest but I found today's performance pretty bad honestly. I can see the Big 4 sending this 20 years ago in one of their acts of desperation during the 2000s era.

Absolutely fantastic. See no problems or points for improvement personally. Eye-catching performance, a compelling character and an earworm of a song. Fun with an impactful emotional touch. I think people will really resonate with this and vote.

The section they chose for the recap was surprising but then again not surprising.

That was very entertaining. It cant reach top 5 in my eyes, top 10 should be fine. there is a lot of backing vocals (like in many songs). in the verses the backing vocals overlay his live singing. Juries will see that critical. I dont like him to try looking sad in the last part.

The way Christer Björkman used the people pleaser with huge crowd reaction in between Luxembourg and Israel

It does feel manipulative (having subtitles too when nobody else does). And the shoutouts to countries and Europe can be seen as blatant appeals for votes.

The song is still decent for me, but the weird look still doesn't make sense. Also the part where it speeds up a tune into a chiptune sound seemed obscured by extra vocals on top.

One of about 3 that used audience participation in this semi, Armenia one of course.

My casual friend who watched the semi with me randomly teared up at the end (I on the other hand has spoiled everything in advance thanks to the Internet so I was prepared). The contrast between quirky joyous party and then the very emotional ending really hit hard.
