I've found my Et uus saaks alguse/Undo/Wars for nothing/Icebreaker/Lights and shadows/When we're old of 2019.

This is definitely my favourite ESC-song of the year: the combination of the beautiful, melodic, romantic, sweet song + the biggest hate reaction from the ESC-fans is what it needs for a song to be my #1 of the year.

This song, like the others mentioned above, belongs to that category of songs that are the most feared by the fans because, by not being cheap easy-listening trash, but being soulful and thought-provoking, they kinda force them to deal with their own feelings, something that they don't have.

This is why the fans hate ballads like these: because they fear these songs. And the fear generates hatred. It's very difficult to sit down and ponder over feelings; so, for them it's much better to listen to loud uptempo crap, because meaningless uptempo songs cover every feeling like a carpet.

I quite like the song, but why would people be afraid of it?

because it's not fast food music, the lyrics are DEEP.

There's nothing to be afraid of in this description. xshrug
Or could you cite a section of the lyrics that you would describe as "DEEP", so that I can probably better understand your argument?

Eurofans are afraid of deep songs because they require good taste and intelligence to understand.

Stay
Until I find a way to be together
Forever's here to stay
No matter what they say
It's now or never
It's forever

See? This is not ayeayeaye ayeayeaye FUEGO or REPLAY REPLAY yeah

Honestly, I still don‘t get why this song would scare anyone. I don‘t see depth in it either. I enjoy the classic kitsch ballad and that‘s it. Let‘s leave it at that. ;)

:4: points

I fail to see how "Stay" serves some depth, tbh.
It's just an ordinary and cheesy Eurovision-esque with a very dated sound.
Anna's voice is great and I can totally see myself enjoying the song from time to time but it's neither deep nor great.

If you're from Hungary and you're looking for real definitions of cliché, then look at the entries from your country from 2012 to 2014 and from 2016 to 2019.

Joci Pápai and AWS as definitions of cliché? Riiiiiiiight. How many dimensions does your universe have?
That's not to say Moldova doesn't crack my top 20 this year... say mainly for ehm... esthetical reasons :D

If you want to compare it to any Hungarian entries the perfect example is 'Candlelight' by Csézy from 2008. Look at the results.

That song was too avant-garde for the 2008 standards, especially considering there was only televoting back then, and it would've qualified under the current voting system.

Some people here are obsessed with alleged „fears“ of fans as if this was some kind of horror-movie-convention. xrofl

If I had to choose an artist that deserved a better song, Anna is definitely my choice. Vocally, she is amazing and I love her personality!

I felt the same about DoReDoS last year too, and staging saved them!

Doredos song wasn't that bad actually. Anna Odobescu has a bad song and probably she won't qualify but she won't come last in the semifinal either. A superamazing staging combined with the fact that she is a good singer can give her some low chances.
