Some eurofans, especially the likes of wiwibloggs whose coverage this year hits a new low in self-indulged uttering of bs, are flat as pancakes regarding their taste in music.

Stay is utter trash. But served with cheese, they fall in love with it and praise it. it is ridiculous.

Maybe that's their way of supporting Ukraine for not being there..

I can sense the jealousy and the envy by the fans for this entry once again...

what happened to creative moldova!!!!!!
They are being creative. They used something that worked several years ago for a song very similar to this one. The timing is right. Whether the choreo will have an impact is another thing.

Please. Attaching a "cool-looking" gimmick from a past esc entry to distract the audience your own, pathetic, awful, basic af entry is the opposite of creative. I am OFFENDED that they expect us to fall for that transparent, desperate CRAP.

Who exactly is "us"? Some people that follow Eurovision and know how many points Sweden got in 1974 and how many points Imaani scored in 1998 and what was/were the colour(s) of the dresses that Elena Gheorge's dancers were wearing? To a lot of people that don't care too much about Eurovision or aren't bothered with statistics and know few winners off hand, and yet vote, will be a novelty act whether you like the song or not.
I think people are pressed that she is an outsider with a song that came before the rehearsals with <1% chance to qualify, to turn things around by going with a gimmick on stage. Would you rather if she just stays and sings and you can use that as a toilet break?

I have no idea what your tangent is about, but w/e. Us, the fans, is what I refer to. It's insulting to our intelligence that they seem to think we would not be able to see though the logic of using that transparent staging trick. I'd rather Anna accept her SF fodder destiny, so Malta and Albania can reach the finals instead :)

And um, yeah, I hate it when lame songs come with distracting staging in a desperate attempt to gain votes? Don't you? I don't mind it when the staging offered matches the song, but that isn't the case here. Moldova know their song is a worthless sack of crap; the sand art was brought in as the main draw for the votes and that's cowardly. It tickles my sense of justice in a very unpleasant place if an act like Moldova's were to stake the chances of a brave, innovative, daring entry such as Albania, Malta or Austria. I will not sit quietly by the sidelines as long as this remains a possibility.

I am not too worried this will happen though. Moldova will avoid last place (not like it ever were a contest; Ireland has always been this SF's last placer), but the song has sub-Breathlessly levels of appeal and Luca will erase the very memory of it from everyone's minds once he comes on. xqueenbitch

That's actually very selfish to think that way and label it as cowardly or that she should accept her fate. She might as well not compete then. :? She, like most artists here aim for the finals (they spend months practicing and recuperating). I see that she copied a prop, but even Luca Hanni and his team are copying Cyprus from last year. People are not saying that, because Luca is attractive and he has a good boppy song, whereas Moldova is in the bottom of everyone's ranking. I am not a fan of that song, but I for instance find it to be way better than Albania and that it is a worthier qualifier than that overrated song. However, I am not saying that Albania cannot bring a sand artist and accept her fate. I would like to think that bringing a prop may be better for at least to keep your attention going. You don't have to like the song at the end and she doesn't have to qualify.
I doubt that Moldova is a super-contender now, but it definitely makes things more interesting. Clearly they are not aiming for the eurovision fans vote, as they have already eliminated her.

it's not creative when it's basically a rip-off

and moldova isn't really the country who uses past successful experiences to create fantastic stagings, just look at both zdob, doredos, aliona, sunstroke..... this year is insanely underwhelming :(

You make a very good point here. I guess people take it badly because it's a blatant rip-off (female with the same sand art artist). To me, I didn't follow ESC until like 2014. So there could be casual viewers or new ESC fans who did not know about the Ukraine performance back in 2011.

But I still think it's really a desperate attempt to mask this weak entry. Anna has an amazing voice, but she has been given one of the most dated songs in this year's competition (together with Russia/Croatia). The song itself is just a non-event even though it has its moments. But it's just not strong enough to withstand all the stronger/high impact songs in the same semi.

Sure the song is dated, but it's so easy and fun to get lost in it and singing along in eastern european english dialect xheat:lol:

I can't hate on this, but Moldova can do better.. I only rank this 11th:mrgreen:

From 2014 onwards they've been rather meh, while in the years before they so much fun and colourful - you couldn't accuse them of being dull. I guess last year was old Moldova, but it just doesn't seemed right. Everything else around it since 2014 has been sort of just there and uninteresting.

I'd like to pretend that 2014 Moldova never happened. xpuke
Thank you for understanding.

But their stagings are still fun most of the time. 2015 gave us something to look at no matter what your sexual orientation is, And 2017 gave us epic sax guy, the cool leg dance (or whatever it's called) and bouquet microphones. I can't believe i have to defend this epicness!

This year is a bit of a let down when it comes to staging, but only because I've seen it before. Mika Newton's staging was cool and the song deserved its high position.

What? It is the same sand artist as in 2011?

2014 did nothing wrong!!!!!!!!!!!1 i love the entry and didn't deserve last place

2015 had a dated song that could be sung by a boyband member of the early 2000s trying a solo career but i like the staging

2016 had a song that I LOVED (it was in my top 10) but the staging was a fail - at least gave us meme

2017 had the inferior epic sax guy but still amazing

2018 was fantastic and i defended it since the beginning

moldova just got this year wrong this decade pls

Yes. It's the sand art artist. The only thing difference instead of using sand, she was actually using "snow" (or at least that's what she claimed, but I think it's just white sand. Lol).
