I don‘t think that trying to understand something excludes being respectful.
You would be a wizard or a sorcerer if you practice witchcraft. A witch is genuinly female.
I could also understand if Bambie said: I‘m a sorcerer because I identify as such. Or: I‘m non binary, but my stage persona is a woman.
But what puzzles me is that they - as far as I‘m aware of - identifies as two opposite concepts at the same time and that is just not possible. Thay are not Schrödingers cat.
And that is not trivial because if I call Bambie „they“, then I‘m denying their self proclaimed witchness - thus misgendering them.
If I accept her „witchness“ and call her „she“, I’m misgendering her again, because I would leave out her non-binary being.
You see? Even within the logic of Non-conformative genderroles there still HAS to be logic. Otherwise I cant talk about this person at all, even if I want to.
