I missed the SF on Tuesday and only watched the performance in the SF today (she was one of the few artists I knew that Qd or NQd beforehand btw.) and I was really impressed by the staging and Bambie Thug. I love her confidence and the poses ... she struck, her chemistry/interaction with the dancer. And the vocals were good too. The song is not among my favourites this year (albeit it could be with a ... few changes in the composition) but I am happy that she did Q as she fully deserved it and it also means that Ireland breaks their bad NQ streak.

Good luck tonight Ireland xheart. I've decided to give all my votes to Bambie (despite my username and avatar) because uniqueness in ESC needs to be rewarded and no other performance has stunned me as much as BT in semi 1

Lordi were not favourites back in the day and mainstream media branded them as "demonic" as well, yet they broke the televising record at the time. In a fair world the juries should appreciate Bambie's artistry, the vocals, the acting, the storytelling. This is not the sort of entry that juries were made to vote down. So here's to hoping but I'm prepping myself for disappointment.

By the way, I believe I heard this on a livestream, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bambie has a different outfit reveal for tonight, replacing the trans flag with a different one. :D

As a Dutch person pretending to be emotionally destroyed by the news today I ask everyone to vote for Bambie. Clearly with all that is going on it is now the witching hour. Crown it.

Bambie missed the dress rehearsal due to an incident they brought to EBUs attention.

This whole thing is a bloody fiasco at this point....

Update:

Bambie asked for KAN to be banned due to their commentary about them in SF1.
Well if the EBU really do have "zero tolerance to innapprotiate behaviour" then it should be adios Israel!

Somehow I suspect different rules will apply in this case in comparison to Joost Klein...

Yeah, that commentary is surely not DQ/complain-worthy?? Peter Urban has said a lot worse over the years, including the exact same 'put your kids to bed thing, it's getting scary' with Lordi in 2006.

Or comparing :ro: 2004 to a prostitute.

It's fine. I will be voting for them too (if they compete - I really hope they will!)

Whilst there is a part of me inclined to agree I think there is a line between being cheeky/making jokes that are close to the bone and commenting on people's gender identity in the way that the comments I heard did. I can't see Israel getting a DQ for their commentary team, maybe a fine, maybe those commentators get fired after the event is over, but nothing more.
