dont compare me to him or I put a satanic spell on you, that Bambie taught me last night :ROFLMAO:
The performance is overwhelmingly based on Ireland's pagan past I've seen people claim that the fucking Triqueta and Triskelion were symbols of santanism ffs

Indeed. "Satanism" is its own modern religion founded by Anton Lavey in the 1960s with its own holy text (The Satanic Bible) and is explicitly atheistic without belief in the supernatural. Paganism goes back into antiquity and maybe pre-history and the Triskelion has nothing to do with either modern Satanism or the Biblical "Satan".

Edit: Bambie has also stated in interviews they're not Satanist. (clickable -> Source link YT)

oh please give me a rest! of course the performance is based on witchcraft, spells and satanic symbols (the upside-down-five-angled star is nowadays commonly seen as a satanic symbol no matter which other significations it might have had or still has.)

There are many symbols out there in the world that have a specific connotation and lesser known ones as well. (like the swastika for example), but if you put one on stage you of course refer to the most common one.

She calls herself a witch, this is not a history lesson in Irelands prechristian period for gods sake!
And there‘s nothing wrong with that! Play with that goth/dark/satanic aesthetics if it works for you. But dont complain if commentaters describe that as what it is. Thats f****ing childish.

I do agree that the commentators should be relatively neutral in their presentation of the artists (particularly in regards to not influencing the televoting). However, what has been said in for instance the commentary from the UK over the years was also pretty harsh and could have made some not vote for a country to avoid feeling embarrassed. I don’t know if the guy from Israel is a comedy kind of guy. In any case, if you are pushing borders as an artist, you must accept that some want those borders to stay in place.

Surprised the jury gave her almost the same as the televote. Surprised both way: too much from the jury, too less from the crowd, but she will be remembered for sure!

Shame Israel's cheating cost us a top 5 but this is still an amazing result!

- EDIT - Yes, Israel beat Ireland in the UK tele vote, that seems totally believable...if you're going to cheat Israel at least make it believable, not that it matters as we know the EBU wont do anything about it.

Let's hope this marks a milestone in Ireland's trajectory in the contest and a lesson for RTÉ. With the appropriate work, great results can be achieved! Super congratulations, Ireland xcheer

Can they represent Ireland every single year from now?

I was reluctant to vote and finance the corrupt EBU but I just couldn’t resist the urge with this beautiful angel disguised as a devil xlove

I would take them any day over the devils disguised as angels.

Ireland making it to the Top 10 with something as alternative and edgy as THIS after soooo many years of NQing feels like a fever dream.

I will forever love Bambie for the way they unapologetically repped the Trans flag in a time where Alt-Right and Right-wing anti-LGBT Populism is growing as well as how the performance was ended with "Love will always trump hate" xheart. Enbies (non-binary people) can be proud of both them and Nemo after last night.
