The songs and artists selected for EuroSong will be revealed on January 8th on the Ray D'Arcy Show. Interestingly, Eirevision broke the exclusive news on Twitter/ X. Last year, RTE announced this news extremely last minute. It's good it's being announced early to get a bit of hype. But it seems like RTE are not bothered about the use of their own social media channels when it comes to Eurovision. Says a lot on the broadcasters attitude towards the competition IMO.

They definitely don't care in my opinion. Ray D'Arcy is another one of RTE's "high earners" that I doubt cares about Eurovision. At least Tubridy won't be hosting this time around.

Yes, although the Ray D'Arcy show is an improvement IMO. He does seem to know a little bit about Eurovision. He interviewed Loreen this year when she was over for her concert in Dublin. I doubt he's an expert, but he shows more of interest than Tubridy did

It definetly is an improvement on Ryan that's for sure. Must be remembered also when Ireland last did a stand alone NF in 2008 it was Ray D'Arcy hosting it.

Is he a super fan? I doubt it (but could be wrong) but I would say he actually care's even a little bit which could be said of Ryan.

Yeah he probably does care a little bit more at least. I'm assuming Patrick Kielty will host the actual NF and Ray is just introducing the songs on January 8th. Where did you hear the rumor Next In Line are competing in Eurosong this year?

Plus he wont come out with the utter nonsense Ryan did last year like saying "this year could be our year" which any sane person would have laughed at last year. Yeah Patrick Kielty will host it too, I'll be interested to see his performance on the show be he will at the very least add some life to the show even if he isn't a ESC fan.

Keith Mills on twitter was saying that a Louie Walsh act is on and when someone mentioned Next In Line he said "yep that's them". Obviously not the most credible source but he's gotten this sort of stuff right in the past more often than not so I'd be confident they are in it. He also mentioned on Facebook that CMAT is in it too so hopefully both are right.

Cruachan has posted to Facebook that they were not selected for this year's Irish Eurosong 🙄 - hopefully this is because there is a better rock or folk song selected instead, and not that RTE have chosen 6 pop songs
Hello all, back fresh and ready for another season after a few months off the forum.

Was just about to ask how Cruachan had got on and sad to hear they haven't been selected.

Any news on whether Luke Thomas got through?

So Ireland are at the UK stage in like 2016-2019 when our songs were played on Radio 2
Not long until you finally send something credible then hopefully

It was a masterclass on rtes part, connors genital chasm was commentary on the division of the island of Ireland
What how NI now drape themselves in red, white and blue every May because of sheer embarrassment?
