Undeniable bop and that staging don't go together, bops need energy and/or be engaging which the UK 2023 performance was not. She may be but that's more of an indictment of the other acts the UK have sent rather than how big she is.
Each to their own. I thoroughly enjoyed it, minus the vocals.

Now back to Ireland. Any suggestions of a non-bland song slipping through RTÉ's net?

I mean if it was just about presentation it was nice but when it coms to grabbing votes it fell well short.

This year it appears Michael Kealy made everyone involved sign non disclosure agreements so we will probably know nothing until after the songs are revealed.

All we know now is there are strong rumours that CMAT, Next in Line & Bambie Thug are 3 of the acts but at the moment its just rumours as the usual sources of information from previous years have to keep their mouth shut this year.

They have been rumoured but the latest instagram stories seems to suggest that Bambie Thug is indeed in the selection.

I know Michael Kealy mentioned previously that all the singers and jury members signed non disclosure agreements this year which seems to be the case as we are only 5 days away from the beginning of the announcement and we still dont have any real concrete news on who's in the selection.

Oh wow, I've heard about Bambie Thug before (thanks NSC!) but I didn't realize they were Irish.

Sounds exciting if it's true I can't wait to hear their song.

Another act rumoured is Erica Cody. She has done a lot of interviews this year saying she'd love to represent Ireland at Eurovision. I think she posted to socials too saying she submitted a bop to Eurosong.
My gut feeling is CMAT participating is just a rumour. She recently said the way RTE currently selects a song would put her off. But I do get the "never say never" vibe from her, she's a huge fan of Eurovision. Let's hope Michael Kiely contacted her about it.

Is there any slight chance RTÉ includes some song with Irish/Celtic vibes in the selection, or they'll continue following the radio-friendly path? I'm not familiar with the rumoured names. Anyway, I'd kill to have something as Sophie Lennon (JESC 2022) in the adult ESC, one of the best JESC performances ever!

The rumoured 6 on Twitter are:
Ailsha
Bambie Thug
Next in Line (Louis Walsh boyband)
Erica Cody
JYellowL
Isabella Kearney

Seems like a varied lineup. I'm feeling good about Ailsha (short snippet on Twitter indicates folk-rock) and also intrigued by Bambie and JYellowL.

Next in Line and Erica Cody aren't exciting me but will give their songs a chance. No idea who Isabella Kearney is.

Next in Line make me a little nervous.

I hope Ireland will hold off voting for a boy band again after last year.

You can't rely on the irish public they will just go oh they look like a nice bunch of lads regardless of how shite the song js

We need to set up a few extra steps to vote for Next in Line before people can cast their votes.

"You're not just voting for them because they look like nice lads are you?
"No but really?"
"Be honest....."
"*gives you a look*"
"Well, if you say so...."

I think Ireland's NQ streak will call when they send another Kearney... I'm talking about Anna: the girl is really talented and it's the best possibility to bring back Irish as a language in Eurovision.

Or if Alisha wins as her song has Irish in it, not sure how much yet though.
