I've learned that when it comes to trans and ambiguous sexual identities, the best thing is to ask the person what pronoun s-he prefers. If Conchita Wurst wants to be called "she" or "he", that's entirely up to her/him.

In the meantime, you call Conchita "him", I would call Conchita "her" and we would both be right. Stop trying to attack everyone on this.

I'd pick "Him" for Tom, "Her" for Conchita, in the same way as I'd pick "Him" for Barry Humphries, "Her" for Dame Edna.

No, lgbt propaganda by the establishment is getting ridiculous. It's very commonly advocated in western countries, to the point where it comes across as overly preachy and has become counter productive.

I hope Conchita Wurst is judged entirely on musical merit rather than any gimmicks, particularly when the gimmick is neither universally appreciated nor new.

Of course he won't be judged on musical merit, otherwise he wouldn't have been selected. He is a good singer to be sure, but there are plenty of good Austrian singers without cheesy gimmicks. Conchita is there for one reason only : the visual element.

I completely dislike his/her look, but that wouldn't matter to me if the song and the artist were good. I've just listened to his/her entry in the Austrian NF in 2012 (I'm probably one of the few who still hadn't nowadays but I'd heard of Conchita of course) and it's just baaaaad, so plain, cheesy and old-fashioned. So far I don't expect something good here :?
