Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

I was highly skeptical of Gina before MF as she seemed like an overhyped, stupid "fjortis" to me too, but she definitely proved me wrong. She was really funny in a way that didn't seem scripted and rehearsed, but seemed very spontaneous and improvised. She was good on commentary too, I thought.

I know what you're going to say now. You're going to keep bringing up her antisemitism as you always do whenever her name is mentioned. You seem quite obsessed by it, to be honest.

Even though I like Gina, I don't think she should host ESC. Her sense of humor is quite bold and straight forward and she could easily say things in the spur of the moment that could rub the European viewers the wrong way. It's for this reason I don't think Kristian Luuk should host either. I love the man to death and I thought he was hilarious as MF host, but I think you have to be Swedish to "get" his jokes.

Did you see the "Inför ESC" programs? Gina came across as utterly stupid in those. And yeah, we don't need a hostess like that in a city like Malmö.. I will say no more than that on that subject, but we already make fools out of ourselves by our choice of city, so we don't need to come across as even worse now... and yes I have a big problem with her comments and combine those with hosting in a city which is infamous for its antisemitism and openly anti-semitic mayor... I mean what image do you want Sweden to give to Europe?

I couldn't stand Kristian Luuk, a more disrespectful host than him I can't come up with. I'm ok with humor, but to openly show disrespect to the whole concept you're hosting it's a big no-no for me... therefor I would like Sarah Dawn Finer, because she proved she could be hilarious (in character) but she still has respect for the show / contest itself.

What do you mean that he openly showed disrespect to the show?

Well, that was just my impression. I guess we interpret it differently. I found him very ignorant and he came across as making fun of the whole show instead of just being funny... there's a difference there.

I like Luuk in his "right element" so to speak. "Sen kväll med Luuk" was one of my favorite weekly shows as a kid. But he wasn't in "his" element in MF though and he couldn't even hide it well so therefor he, atleast to me, came across as ignorant toward the whole show.

I didn't think he came off that way at all. Sure, he was poking fun at practically everything, but to me it seem like he actually meant it. It's just his sense of humor, which I very much share. One of the best moments was when he said "nu tänker jag visa lite siffror på overheaden" and then, instead of showing statistics on the overhead like was implied, he just showed random numbers. Haha!

Gina clearly played a staged role in "Inför ESC" and did it very well.

Sarah Dawn Finer would be a very good option. She's good as a serious host and especially good when she's acting. :D

Gina seems like a good option as well. It's true, I didn't understand a word she was saying as a host of Melodifestivalen, but I like her anyways.

Sarah Dawn Finer is definitely an entertaining host! I would definitely love to see her as a host! :D. TBH, it would be quite interesting to see Loreen as a host mainly because she always looks high or something xrofl

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

I want the hosts in Eurovision to be polite with a classic charm. Their appearance should be genuine and honest, their messages simple and clear. Very few pays attention to what they are saying anyway because every broadcaster have their own presenters who are eager to show their skills. The subtle humour in Melodifestivalen would simply not work in Eurovision. The hosts should look pretty and nice, smile a lot and not talk too much.

I'll stick to my original choices:

Victoria Silvstedt

Dolph Lundgren

And:
lynda-woodruff-esc-1_0.jpg

Sarah Dawn Finer as Lynda Woodruff

I think hosts should be good-lucking, entertaining (but not over the top), have character and yet respecting the show and its purpose.

I want to break the trend with pale hosts without any character, forced and no charisma. I don't want the show to about the hosts (hello Stefan Raab 2011), but I still want them to have a purpose other than looking too bored with scripted pale jokes.

Our hosts 2000 were a DISASTER. Kattis is so bleak and Anders Lundin is seriously one of the ugliest and most boring hosts we have in this country.
