Malin Åkerman

edit:
But I have no idea what relation they have to Eurovision. Something is kind of needed I think.

I dislike them all

Well, I kinda like Izabella, but watching her on Top Model Sweden she's actually a total bore.

Malin Åkerman is a total joke, they act like she's this "big Hollywood star", while in fact she just plays second fiddle in stupid flop comedies , even Victoria Silvstedt and her multiple stand-ins as "Inga from Sweden" had more Hollywood success than that one

I love Tina, but her English is barely understandable, and she's aged very badly imo.

She had to take intensive English courses for that short-runned "Scandinavian food" program she was the hostess of in the US.

OK, I admit Malin Åkerman kind of slipped by - I don't know anything about her.
Izabella is not a bore! In any case it doesn't matter because she is always Izabella.
Hire Izabella, Noomi Rapace or Alexander Skarsgård would of course break the budget. :(

Malin Åkerman and Swedish media thinks she's "all that", which is quite funny tbh. It's the same delusion that they think Robyn is a major star in the USA

Yup, they'd all think they're worth millions so that'd be hard

Agreed! :) But, she'd probably not work as a host for an international big show like this though.. :/

The Americans? Who would know what they think and who cares? xthinkxshrug:mrgreen:

She is so lovely and nice. :)

Dunno who she is

Aaah, I knew you were kidding us! :) I love the sexy scar which she apparently got from a bicycle accident. I think Sofia is a terrific candidate!

Disagreed 10000%

Someone put that qouta out from TV as fast as possible, don't ruin this contest more than it's already ruined.

Maybe we should invite Malmö's mayor to present Israel's entry aswell while we're on it? Would be a fab show now wouldn't it?

Gina's family are Palestinian refugees. It is hardly surprising she as a person is critical to Israeli foreign policy. She has her human right to express her opinion regarding these things. Her blog was very much of challenge hypocrisy and prejudices regarding immigrants in Sweden, therefore obviously political in nature. Part from being funny, I think she was very brave and honest. She actually has received death threats and harsh comments for challenge traditional views on women for example.

In contrast to this, her work at SVT has been more of lightweight celebrity shows, including hostess at Melodifestivalen. There has been nothing political what so ever in her participation. There is a difference of Gina as a professional person and her personal activities.

Your view of her as a fanatical bimbo is utterly wrong and is only showing your tendency to let your politics guide your way. You simply don't like her because she has been critical to Israeli foreign policy. This is not a valid argument against her as a hostess in Eurovision.

She said Israel is equally bad as Hitler (considering what happened in the past that statement is truly vile). I don't want a person like that represent us in from of whole Europe. It's as simple as that.

Not true actually. She was attacked by pro-Israeli lobby, read.

I read her post, and I will not make up excuses for such vile statements. She deleted it later on but it was there. Why do you make up excuses for her? For what exact reason I'd like to know?

Would you want a Nazi to be a host in front of all Europe? Would that be a "nice representative"? Because her opinions are the same, but I guess it's ok because she's Muslim right? So she has a free-card of making Nazi statements?

Ahmadinijad had equal statements, maybe we should invite him as a host while we're on it? Being a supporter of SD would make you banned for SVT, but comparing Israel to Nazi-Germany is ok and should be encouraged by giving you top jobs?

"Pro-Israel lobby" huh? What's next? Jewish conspiracies? Jewish lobby? The mayor of Malmö would be pleased with such statements.

Referring to Swedish media is like referring to Soviet media... makes no sense because they are also openly antisemitic and anti-Israeli, so I don't expect anything objective coming out from those, on contrary the same old excuses and victimizing of the offenders.

She said what she said, I'm not giving her a free-card because she is Muslim or so called "Palestinian" (she's not even born in that region, she's born in Sweden)...

Sorry but SVT should represent all Sweden and be objective and Eurovision should represent all Sweden and not present people who spread hate propaganda. Maybe you feel represented by her, I don't and I don't want people with such vile statements to represent Sweden in front of Europe... it's bad enough we're in Malmö... or you want it to be "Anti-Israelivision Song Contest"? Because we're heading in that direction.

Re: Possible Hosts for 2013

^ It's not about what she wrote or didn't write. A political lobby organisation and their "supporters" attacking a 19 year old comedian what she writes on the Internet? xwhat She is "defended" by a Jewish historian and writer in a series of articles. There were 1532 comments for the linked article alone. The article is written in a respected Swedish morning newspaper of free liberal political direction (M). More than anything, these articles are linked to the debate about Swedish Internet political climate due to aftermath of the Utøya killings.

You cannot refer to political biased debates in a discussion of Eurovision hosts. It's not relevant or fair play and immediately turns the discussion off topic and political.

Personally I'm not the slightest interested in Gina's political views, or Sarah Dawn Finer's, or Måns Zelmerlöw's, or Danny's ... It is their human right to have political opinions without any consequences in their professional life. It's a very important democratic point of view.

edit:
There is however perhaps an entertainment factor somewhere in this. A delicate spice for certain situations (possibly).

If she wants to compare Israel with Nazi-Germany it's her prerogative, but she should not be someone representing Sweden. It actually disgusts me with the double standards of SVT.

Her age is just another excuse, 19 is not a little kid, she knew VERY WELL what she meant. SVT is state-run TV and Eurovision is paid for by ALL tax-payers, therefor I think it is utterly wrong to have someone like this representing Sweden.

I couldn't care less about her hatred, but I just don't want her to be on that stage in may because she does NOT represent me and many others in Sweden, and SVT and Eurovision is not just for a little Israel-hating emdia elite, it should be objective and represent all Sweden.

I'm all for freedom of speech, but SVT is paid for by whole of Sweden and I don't want my tax money to go to that hating person being a host and represent us in Europe.
