This year's contest is wide open for who can win. Like last year, I didn't have a clear winner until Austria's semi final performance, and will be the same this year. If I bet anything on the winner for 2015 it would be either :be: or :se:

Hmm, Belgium is a strange choice. Don't hear that mentioned often.

There is no scientific method to this, but I'm pretty sure more love Norway than hate it. I hear it and it screams winner. I don't see it as THE favourite, but it is the very definition of a dark horse.

I'm not saying there is a scientific to this, but more people loving AMLM doesn't mean it will do well. UK2014, Israel 2014, Estonia 2011, Germany 2013, Sweden 2008 just to name a few, all of these were big fan favourites and flopped. Obviously our opinions differ when it comes to Norway screaming winner, but to me the screamers this year are Italy, Russia and maybe even Sweden.

Italy and Sweden are obvious picks and Russia will be persona non grata in Western Europe. They can't win. I'd say Australia are also contenders.

Russia cant win? Come on, they came 7th last year with a much more worse song.
Besides that Polina is a fantastic performer who has loads of experience and she will work her magic in Vienna.
I think Europe arent that idiotic who wont vote for Russia for obvious reasons, because 99.9999% of Russian population are actually normal, regular human beings. ;)

I meant based on their live performances, especially at Eurovision in London. Also, it doesn't appear to be drifting at all in the odds, and a lot of experts are more confident of it's chances. This is going to do very well.

You don´t think :au: and :se: have more momentum because their performances at the partys in Amsterdam and London were very good too(favorites on the odds as well)

Spot on, has very low Viewers on YT if you compare to the other "favorites". I don´t Think  will miss the final but I´m pretty sure they won´t win

:se: has drifted in the odds a little since the Amsterdam/London events. Nowhere near as much as :sl: but still. Going to those events really didn't do much for them in terms of the odds good or bad. I think that's mainly due to the momentum :au: got from the events more then anything else though xshrug

:it: has drifted a little as well but Il Volo haven't done anything so its not really that surprising. Again I think that's also due to the recent surge from :au:

The only thing that has changed for :se: is that we have drifted from 2,30 to 3,00. Pretty much realistic odds now, our entry is good but not that good as the odds has showed the last weeks

not much if you look at :ee: who has gone from 4-5 to 8-11 on most odds

But it´s quite obvious :au: is the overall Winner from those events in the odds

:au: :sl: or maybe :se: :ee:

But who knows, it looks too much like 2011.

I'm surprised people think Russia can win. They can only expect major points from the Ex-USSR, Serbia, Israel and possibly Greece. In the Baltic countries the juries might vote them down. Top 10 is very likely but not winning.

Its not impossible for :ru: to win xshrug

Last 2 years they were 5th and 6th in the televote and this year Polina is 100x the singer and performer Dina and the twins were put together. Polina is more famous in the ex-USSR so I expect her points from them to be little higher and the absence of :ua: can only help. I've also seem across the internet many Western posters surprisingly with Russia in their top 10 and grudgingly admitting they like it. Reaction from fans is stronger then it was for "What if" and "Shine"

And if it ends up being a mess voting wise Russia will probably be the one who would take advantage of it the most.

Exactly my thoughts - If Europe isn't able to agree on ONE clear winner, the country with an "okay" song and lots of friends wins (see 2011)

What about the other songs from the ex-USSR that will likely be popular and get more votes from the West? There's Estonia, Azerbaijan and possibly Georgia and Armenia. I think these countries might receive less support in the region but the additional support from the West should make up for it.

I can't really tell you why but I fear that Russia will win this whole thing. If "the West" has different winners it could get problematic because Russia will most likely get :6: to :12: points from :az: :am: :ge: :lv: :lt: :ee: :md: :by: :gr: :cy: :il: :fi: :cz: as well as some safe points from :rs: and :me:
The song isn't bad at all and it will at least please juries in the west - which will lead into some points here as well. That could be enough in a relatively open competition

Open competition?

yeah it´s really "open" with three countries having a pretty big margin to the others in the odds (and that was not the case in 2011)

Uh, so I'm not the only one. I would never actually vote for Russia, but the song is great because of the singer. Russia will be high no matter what but I can't see iit winning. Not in this political situation.

I said RELATIVELY open (compared to 2012 or 2009)
You know, I don't give a shit about all these fan-polls ... They already were wrong in so many cases. We all know that it's not us fans who decide the outcome of the contest. (fortunately)
