I understand the results have been very accurate to date, but I'd say the visuals are a very important piece and as they're missing... I'm not sure. I find it strange that they included Spain, and as a runner up at that, given all the other choices they've made.
I guess it's because they haven't seen the tiger

Of course the visuals count in the end but I wanted to prove to people that songs who are said to be "nothing" without their staging (Sweden) are indeed just as great without

Yes, good point. I believe the in concerts have proven that by now as well ;)

let me remind you the points that Italy got in 2013 from South Europe.
12 from Albania,Spain,Switzerland
10 from Austria,Fyr Macedonia,France
8 from Croatia,Malta,Slovenia
6 from Greece,Cyprus,Montenegro
4 from San Marino,Serbia
Only Israel & Bulgaria didn't give any.
What makes you think that this year Italy can get more votes?

It's more suitable for Eurovision since it's more memorable and appealing after the third listening. Also more visual. That's why Italy is favourite this year and in 2013 it was only favourite for the top-10.

Hmm tbh, I think the chances of an Italian win were higher in 2013. (compared to this year)
We all know that only songs with a more or less modern/mainstream-orientated production will get far in this contest. "Grande Amore" may be an exceptional piece of music within the Eurovision-fan-bubble (not for my taste) but I just don't see it doing well with the average-viewers. Therefor it's way too sluggish, old-fashioned and cliché maybe even a bit too demanding. The language is another problem that makes it hard for the average-viewer to connect to the entry - There is a reason why this kind of music doesn't really show up in the international charts: It's only appealing for a minority and rather appalling for a wide audience.

Hello? Was "Rise like a phoenix" something fresh and modern then? :?

To tell you all the truth, even Euphoria felt stale to me. And I'm not even getting started on Running Scared...

They all looked pretty slick on stage though and that's something I don't believe Italy will manage. Except for the first time with the rapsody, they never really have. Grande Amore will be particularly difficult.

It's been more than a month and I still believe Slovenia will win. It's just a feeling that I keep on having, but also based on the fact that it's the type of performance that remains in the mind of the viewer. I also think the jury is going to rank it high.

Italy is something that we've seen before. If you ask me, it's the typical Eurovision safe entry, helped by some good vocals. I think even the mainstream viewer starts to feel that we should move forward.

Sweden, for me, it's the obvious choice, but I don't see it winning, mainly because of the 'won before' effect. It'll struggle but I think it has for sure the third place.

Estonia lacks the wow factor. It's a good song, but the type that doesn't make a great impression from the beginning. I don't think it's style is ment to win this competition.

Seeing Belgium would be interesting: I wouldn't bet on it but who knows. Another mistery for me is Latvia. It would either fail or do very well.

The momentum seems to be with Norway at the moment, but I think we're going to have a shock winner.

My current prediction for victory is Germany.

I'd love that but it's rather ... unlikely

I think the popera edge is not enough to set Italy's song that much apart from the likes of Armenia, Greece, France, Spain, the Czechs and so many others this year.

None of these songs has the same power and energy of the italian one. I don't want to sound arrogant 'cause it's my country but I really think so.

I Think he means you saying "the momentum is for " when they are falling behind in the odds and so on ;)

I meant based on their live performances, especially at Eurovision in London. Also, it doesn't appear to be drifting at all in the odds, and a lot of experts are more confident of it's chances. This is going to do very well.

Yes, that. But also his prediction of Germany winning.

Why is that?

Well what Pawhlen said, Norway is slipping in the odds and there are a significant number criticising the entry. It just does not scream winner and I happen to think the song is so massively overrated and hyped by those who do like it.

Germany I don't seeing getting to the left side of the board, let alone winning. It may well do better than expected but there is no way this winning.

There is no scientific method to this, but I'm pretty sure more love Norway than hate it. I hear it and it screams winner. I don't see it as THE favourite, but it is the very definition of a dark horse.

This year's contest is wide open for who can win. Like last year, I didn't have a clear winner until Austria's semi final performance, and will be the same this year. If I bet anything on the winner for 2015 it would be either :be: or :se:
