Short answer of the relevance of my predictions of the matter: ()
Both :be: and :nl: have been hot lately, but I voted
:fr: because they'll send a electro-dance/house track that will slay everything
I take back all the France predictions I made. Naturellment a Swede will win as usual every year in the only relevant contest. xheart

But I can say this: Of course I always want Sweden to win the same way I cheer for say our ladies football team, Anja Pärson, Emil Jönsson or whoever. That is with one big exception in 2011 and the terrible dreadful Eric Saade though. :D But as many others I tend to get a favourite beyond this rather simple home country perspective - for example Margaret Berger in 2013. I think this is the very aspect that make ESC fun and enjoyable. I think it's great that The Netherlands at last got a hang of it and Hungary sending serious contenders. I don't think Austria "deserved" a win. but Conchita certainly did. There are a bunch of countries e.g. Iceland, Malta and Romania who really do "deserve" a win. Despite all this I want France to win. Finally, as an answer to your question I'd say Sweden after all.

Eurovision is not about countries, it's about vocalists.

The one country with the most passionate singer will win. Bring it and sing it like Rybak, Loreen, Emmelie and Conchita, and no country can be stopped from winning. For Conchita Eurovision was a lifelong passion and she always wanted to be in this family, she showed it, that's why she won it. Those eyes, molten by desire....

Sing your heart out! (omg, I just found a slogan  )

Now my prediction for the next 10 years:

A surprise winner,
A used to winning winner
A winner on a winning streak
An Eastern European winner,
A Western European winner,
A Nordic Winner,
A Mediterranean Winner,
A big country,
A small country,
A tiny country,
A returning country,
A classic country,
A brandnew winner and
A negative shock winner.....

Also, some countries won't win within the next 10 years, e.g. a country that has never won so far might yet not win...

So actually all your predictions can cover all countries in Europe xd you have 10 out of 10 :p

I hope it will be The Netherlands and if they keep sending songs as in 2013 and 2014 I know they will win (it needs to be music, good music, with heart and much soul).
Otherwise I can really see Hungary coming closer and closer, I would love to see Ukraine win again (but to be honest I am afraid they are going to send something tasteless again .. 2013 and 2014 was great)

From 2008 and on:
Russia-Norway-Germany-Azerbaijan-Sweden-Denmark-Austria.
These are countries that have money.
Who else remains?
Netherlands-UK-Switzerland-France-Belgium

I agree with this.

In France, seems like Eurovision will be aired on France 2 instead of France 3 next year, which could mean more Financial means and maybe... better musical taste ?

As to the United Kingdom, they should keep up the good work, choosing Molly was a smart move. They may be more successful in the next years.

Did you forget Ell & Nikki on purpose ? Well, they can't be considered singers anyway

Yes, I did. In 2011 it wasn't a song that won, but a country. That happens from time to time, especially when the contest is too close.

Yep, unfortunately that was the weakest Azeri entry ever. 2011 was so disappointing in terms of results.

I found the voting very boring that year as well. Yes it was close but the voting was so spread out, (24th place with 44 points xfacepalm) and we was at Country 24 in the running order before anyone reach 100 points.

Even though I don't like it either when one country leads the scoreboard during all the voting process (like in 2009), 2011 voting was boring indeed. I guess it's because there were huge discrepancies between juries and televoting : I remember that juries had Italy as their first choice, they favoured Austria and Slovenia, that bombed with the viewers, maybe there were more I don't remember. All this didn't help having an exciting voting.

Plus the fact that most favourites failed : France, Estonia, Hungary... The United Kingdom failing to get to the top 10, Sweden reaching the 3rd place eventually..
With such a bland and undeserving winner, it couldn't have been worse.

I don't agree when people say there were no winning song, yes no one really stood out, but a bunch of songs could have won the whole thing instead of Running scared.

I don't agree. IMO 2011 was extremely mediocre year and I'm not suprised that a lot people can't see there a clear winner......tfu, winner at all. Azerbaijan also wasn't stunning, but song was nice and they hadn't won anytime before.

Tastes differ of course. I didn't say that some songs were screaming "winner", just that there were better songs than Running scared imo
The worst thing is that Running scared isn't even a love or hate song, it's just bland and middle of the road, which is a shame both for that edition of the contest and Azerbaijan itself (that won with its weakest entry).

I agree. Slovakia had a very similar song, and they didn't even qualify. It definitely is one of their worst entries, and the only thing that helped push them overboard was that it was safe and inoffensive. That in addition to a great draw and good camerawork compared to the other acts, which were messy and unorganized.

Predicting these things are hard.

I think it will be The Netherlands, Ukraine, Malta or (if they send Sirusho) Armenia

I'm a bit concerned about what looks like a westernization of the ESC.

This year, 7 Top 10 entries came from Western Europe, and last year, everything was set for a Danish win, although Ukraine had a major entry, others as well.

There's lots of political voting going on in most Westen countries, who don't vote for any Eastern country anymore. Most blatantly this year UK and Belgium.

Only a few countries like France, NL, Switzerland and Austria don't care about East and West.

We will see what future ESC brings. Hope not too many countries get disheartened to participate.
