^^ Both France and Italy kind of get overlooked at the final night (with the exception of 2011 for Italy). They need to channel an exposure to compensate they are not in the semi finals. Netherlands and Hungary are indeed hot (:p) in the contest.

My gut feeling told me before this year's contest, it's gonna be a rich country for the win.

So, I guess the same will be true for 2015.

Switzerland or Netherlands most likely then, or UK.

Do your gut feelings usually turn out to be true? :D It will probably be the Netherlands.

I don't think it's the Netherlands tbh, because victories don't build up in a crescendo.... Netherlands might deserve it, but if everyone anticipates their win, no one is ready for the usual surprise

List of runner-ups, which won the following year:

France 1958
United Kingdom 1969 (which had 4 winners)
United Kingdom 1976
France 1977
Germany 1982
France 1991 almost

It's more likely that the host gets a 2nd place or double win on home soil.

Double wins:
1979 Israel
1993 Ireland
1994 Ireland

2nd place at home:

Norway 1996
Ireland 1997
UK 1998
Denmark 2001

I think this is actually about predictions, not who we want.

So I think that these countries have more chances to win the next years: (starting with the one who got more)

1. Netherland
2. Hungary
3. Italy
4. Sweden
5. Armenia
6. Estonia
7. UK
8. Ukraine (it's in this place cause of the politic situation. In any other case it would have been higher)
9. Switzerland
10. Azerbaijan / Spain

I really cant see France winning xshrug However I need a song to make a clear decision

And the ones who I want :
01. :ru:
02. :by:
03. :pl:
04. :ua:
05. :pt:
06. :sm:
07. :ge:
08. :me:
09. :es:
10. :sl:

What make you predict Nerherlands, Hungary and Italy ahead of Sweden?

UK ahead of Denmark and Norway?

Sweden had won at 2012 and I dont think that it's going to be Sweden so quick xshrug
Then Netherlands and Hungary are the hot faves to win. About Italy, I think that they always had a lot of chances to win anyway and after their come back they always have good songs

Then UK with a entry like "Children Of The Universe" or "I Can" can achieve top 10, but it depence and in the other entries. Denmark is in the same case with Sweden. Norway would have been probably my 11 or 12 in predictions but like France it depence on the song.

However these are just my predictions.

I can bet with everyone that France and UK won't win in 2015 (and probably nearest future). No with that strategy.

Why are Netherlands and Hungary the hot faves? Hungary's best placement is 4th in 1994. In the latest 4 years Sweden have 3 placements better than that. Netherlands was 2nd this year but that was also their best result since 1975 I think. Why should Sweden's victory 2012 make them less favorite? If anything it would made Sweden a hot contender for the win since we clearly has the right Formula to win.

Sorry but your prediction seems to be mixed between what you want to happen and real prediction.

Because once countries win, they try their hardest to do well but not actually win for the years following. Sweden wasn't so lucky with Robin in 2013, but they got the nail on the head with Sanna. Denmark this year it was obvious they didn't want to win, and I was surprised how well they actually did in the ESC. Going back there are very few countries who win one year and then try really hard to win the following year or few years after. Sweden may have a good formula but it doesn't always prove successful, just look at 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010.

Still Sanna's placement is better than anything that Hungary has done so far. Also only one placement after the so called hot fave Netherlands.

Robin wasn't good and I agree Sweden didn't try hard enough to win. But the fact still remain: Sweden has 3 top 3 placements in the latest 4 years. If that isn't a hot fave to win then I don't know what is that.

BTW, Netherlands didn't even make final 8 years in row until 2013. Now suddenly they are more hot fave than Sweden after 9th place and 2nd place? How do we know they aren't happy enough?

Sorry, but when people use 2012 against Sweden it seems they don't want Sweden to win again and they rather want Netherlands or Hungary to win. Not prediction.

Well people like an Underdog, and Hungary and the Netherlands are underdogs. No one likes someone (or in this case a country) who constantly does really well. Hungary have had two great results in a row, and now they have the right formula as well. There is nothing stopping them.

It is not my personal opinion at all xshrug If you see what I wrote there is anywhere :hu: or :nl: at all.

It's Hungary and Netherlands cause of their rising. Sweden had their rising since 2011 and they won at 2012. So it's pretty obvious that they are close to win. Also it was Norway,Sweden and Denmark in sort time so it might be really difficult see someone from Scandinavia winning again.

But again it's JUST my prediction, it's not going to happen xshrug I can say that Greece or San Marino will win but let's be honest it's not going to happen

If Netherlands and Hungary is rising what is Sweden then? I see some people are saying Hungary is so close a victory. Still their best place was 4th in 1994. Sweden has 3 better placements than that in the 4 last years. So again if they are so close then Sweden is even more close. So I really don't get how Hungary is a bigger fave than Sweden except that Hungary and Netherlands are underdogs.

Why can't Scandinavias win again? They won two years in row in 2012 and 2013.

Who will win is not based on their best place. Austria last year won and one year before had stayed in the semis.
Yes as I said Sweden had it's rising with Saade and next year they won with Loreen xshrug The rising stops somewhere and then they start fall. It's positive that they send good entries and do well, but I complitely dont see any reason for Sweden to win.

About Scandinavia, it's exactly what I said. It is really rare someone from this block to win especially fromthe ones that have already won. The only possible would have been maybe Iceland

Sweden had 3 hits in the last 4 years, but the 00's were also tough for Sweden and they sent many bad songs from 2003 to 2010.

I think they were discouraged by their 2002 effort and then by the Eastern block voting.

Because Norway won last time time in 2009, Sweden in 2012 and Denmark in 2013. It's too early for they to win again in 2015.

So what? Do the voters and juries think, ohh great songs but they won 2009, 2012 and 2013. We can't vote for them.

Or poor Hungary they haven't won then we vote for them no matter how good or bad the song is.

Who says it's too early for Scandi to win again? Should Netherlands or Hungary win because they haven't won? I don't get this love for underdogs.

Sorry, but this screams jealousy against the Scandinavian countries rather than prediction.
