I am very curious to see if the 5-7 biggest favorites are favorized the same by normal people, living outside of our Eurovision bubble.

Ok here are the results from my survey.

Friend 1=> What? 40 songs? Are you crazy? I hate eurovision! (She never listened to the songs)

Friend 2=> I only liked the song with the tiger.

Friend 3=> Most of them are quite alike. Finland is something different. I kind of liked Italy, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Georgia. Where are the good old days of Eurovision?

Friend 4=> I closed my eyes and listened all the songs. Italy was by far my favorite. I also liked Israel, Romania, Spain.

Friend 5=> Israel is my favorite! Estonia & Australia have so nice songs! Romania, Malta and Czech Republic are also among my favorites. I hate Italy. Sweden isn't anything special, apart from the impressive show.

Friend 6=> Spain,Azerbaijan and Albania.

Friend 7=> You are still obsessed with Eurovision? My faves are Australia, Romania, Belarus and Iceland.

Friend 8=> I liked very much the italian song. I will bet on it. I also liked Belgium & Romania. Respect to Finland.

Friend 9=> Swedes do know how to do Eurovision. Israel has such a catchy tune ! Oh i adore Hungary. UK is nice ! I also like Fyr Macedonia, Ireland, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Netherlands, Azerbaijan.

Friend 10=> Why are you doing this to me? Ok...Moldova is nice. Fyr Macedonia has a sweet song. Oh, the slovenian girl with that special voice is also good. Sweden is very good, winner material? I also liked Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Ireland, Romania, Italy & UK.

So, from the countries of the Final, the most popular choices were Italy,Australia and then Spain.
From the countries of 1st Semifinal, the most popular songs were by Romania & Belgium and then Estonia. Some of them appreciated Finland. Russia & Albania, did not impress almost anyone.
From the countries of the 2nd Semifinal, the most popular entries were: Israel by far, and then Azerbaijan & Ireland. No one told my anything about Norway or Latvia though.

I don't even try to ask my friends to listen to the songs, because I know I'll only hear something like what your friend no 1 said, GRE. :(

When I meet my mom I'll ask her to listen to all the entries.

Thanks GRE for taking the time and your courage in both hands to introduce Eurovision 2015 to your friends. :) No one mentioned Slovenia?

I guess your "Friend 1" was afraid of the possibility of liking something had she listened to the songs :D

Thanks to my new job, I've been to busy to show my mother this year's song, but I've tried to present them little by little. Here are her impressions:

* Australia: First she was shocked they're allowed to participate. After that, she really liked it, specially because of her voice and compared Guy to Stevie Wonder.
* Estonia: She liked the 60's pop-rock vibe, and was impressed with the overall atmosphere as well as the girl's sweet tune.
* Poland: Okay-ish. Nice, but without a good "punch". She was it was more sincere than most ballads though.
* Israel: Really liked. Praised the ethnic sound blended with a modern uptempo rhtym.
* France: One of her favorites. Impressed with the lyrics and the voice, but she's not sure if most people will get this one.
* Italy: Simply but effective. Praised the performance and the artistry and see them as a potential winner.
* UK: Nice, retro, she actually loved the "scatting" part. It remind her to "The Jungle Book".
* Montenegro: Nice, but far from the best.
* Spain: She saw this as a good contender.
* Azerbaijan: She places this one very high and saw it as a potential winner; praised the voice but compared it to his favorite vocalist of this year, Australia, and Australia won easily.
* Sweden: Not really a favorite, oddly enough. She supported Jon-Henrik and she's still a little mad by that. She liked it but doesn't really see it as that special.

We'll see what the things of the rest.

I played up through Poland for my mom on the album today. Positive responses for Albania, Australia, Belarus, Germany, Denmark (her #1), Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Hungary, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, The Netherlands, and Norway. Finland, Latvia, Georgia, and Norway were the rest of her top 5 aside from Denmark. The UK got a special version of "abhor;" Malta, Austria, Ireland, and France were also among her least favorites.

EDITED: "I only liked Denmark because it's Denmark. It's not like I thought it was this awesome song."
