I like gay artists at eurovision. Idk why but they usually produce really good music. I just hope Olly Allexander took a lesson from Michael Ben David's mistakes. Also a kind of childish but funny thing I noticed - if Ollie wins Eesti Laul, we're going to have two artists with (almost) the same name :sneaky:

P.S. while writing this I didn't realise he was already so huge. I'm really hyped now :LOL:

Honestly, I feel like I'm living in a simulation as a UK Eurofan right now, announcing it on Strictly has to be the most campest moment of the year by a mile.

For those wanting to see it here it is: https://twitter.com/superTV247/status/1736124841797754888

This feels like a massive moment for the BBC, the last time we sent a big artist was Blue in 2011, and that was off the back of a poor run of results, but that was when they were at the back end of their career.

But this is different, Olly is someone at the peak of his career, and its off the back of real positivity for the UK.

I dunno about you, but im just super exicted about this.

I'm excited about the people that will be involved in making the song with Olly Alexander. Thank goodness it's not going to be a slow song or a MOR song, it's going to be a dance song. That will suit him.
Anything as good or better than "Houdini" by Dua Lipa and I'll be sold. I read an interview not long ago from Dua Lipa and how great an artist Danny L Harle is and what he is like to work with, Dua Lipa said he was incredible and has so many fascinating artistic ideas. And now it looks like he'll be making the UK Eurovision song for next year!
My only criticism is Olly's vocals can be hit-or-miss, he's not very consistent.

Now, you see.. May is completely clear in Jane McDonald's touring schedule. This leads me to believe that the rumours for Jane representing us at 2024 Eurovision Song Contest might actually hold some considerable weight behind them..

Now that you said it, omg if it's something like Houdini then I'll be hyped af
@RainyWoods @theCONWEL @Leydan @Edweis manifesting a houdini part deux hit

Houdini is a monumental bop so that's indeed promising. I'm not a fan of Years & Years though but picking Olly makes a whole lot of sense. Sending highly regarded and popular artists (providing the songs are good) is something we should have been at the very least occasionally doing years ago. It baffles me how it's taken us over a decade to actually send a more recognisable artist again.

A possible taster of the type of production for the UK song. Are the BBC actually taking Eurovision seriously and not just being hopeless!!!!

Pissing my knickers of exitement, lads. These news are bonkers. I'm gobsmacked. Can't wait to have a chinwag once the song is out.

This is a good get, someone respectable who is relevant. This needs to be a huge banger, and he needs to start preparing his vocals now he is very hit and miss. Lol
