According to The Sun (I know, I know), Olly (Years & Years) is in advanced talks with the BBC to represent the UK next year.

Apparently, he teamed up with Dua Lipa's producers who's responsible for her brand new single "Houdini" to create something for Eurovision.

I'm beginning to wonder if that song from Loren Alldred that was shown in the FF7 Rebirth trailer at last night's Game Awards called No Promises To Keep is our entry. The BBC have hinted that the artist and song have been chosen. If it is then it is a really big step in the right direction. Plus Nobuo Uematsu is an amazing composer and it's his music that is a big reason why the Final Fantasy Series is so beloved. Loren Alldred is certainly worth keeping an eye on over the next few months, especially to see who she follows on social media and who starts following her.

The song only premiered last night, so I'm wondering if the BBC are in on this then it could be a sort of "hide in plain sight" stealth reveal like they did with Sam Ryder but it's a very different way to go about it.

No offence but, what makes you think that it is them? The only possible reason I can think of is that they happen to have music out that is within the acceptable release window.

Loren Alldred sounds great to me, but does she have any other connection to :uk: besides BGT? Could BBC even go for an American?

Edit: Oh, you are perhaps only talking about the song. But still, what would make you think that? :)

I was aware she was on BGT but I always thought she was from the UK, or lived there for a long time. Plus Rina Sawayama is Japanese yet people want her for the UK.

Olly Alexander is in a studio with Danny L Harle right now. So the rumours have some truth to them.

Apparently hes one of the songwriters, so you were on it

Well well, me watching strictly and I saw him come in to announce the t&cs

Then the bbc account posted it (I was on delay), I had to check it was the actual account

Then he said it on tv. OUT of the blue!! I'm actually so happy-to have someone like Olly represent us at Eurovision is amazing!!

And announced on prime time tv during a MAJOR final which millions will be watching, in DECEMBER!! And not on the radio on a breakfast show. BBC, you've nailed it. I can't wait!
