I read Mabel is also in BMG. Wonder if she’d be interested, that would be great xheat

Actually, I thought about her like 2 months ago and I was telling to myself she'd be the perfect contestant for the UK. "Don't call me up" is 3 minutes long and would've been such a good entry for them !

This quote is what scares me
“selecting a song with broad international appeal and securing an artist who embodies the spirit and values of the Eurovision Song Contest.”

When it comes to the BBC the still think the spirit and values of ESC is ESC in the 70s or scooch... I just hope BMG takes a firm hold on this and makes the decision. The BBC cannot be trusted :lol:

Yes this has me worried as well, but still thrilled about the news of them finally getting rid of the cringefest that is you decide, hopefully theyll do the right thing and give BMG full control of the entry selection (who am I kidding, they won't)

I have just watched Mans performing the UK classics in this year's NF... It got me thinking.... Could be be one to watch for 2020 for the UK?

why didn't the UK send one of them beforehand? why didn't the BBC think of it (sending one of them)? I hope they will send one of them next year.

We'll be happy, but you know how Eurovision is viewed in the UK and they didn't want to risk a career on such a 'circus'

in reality, British entries are just so low-effort no wonder it flops.

well, Eurovision is not a "circus" as what most UK viewers think. I think the UK should learn from the Netherlands. from 2005 to 2012 they never qualified from the semifinal. later in 2013 they qualified, and continues until this year, when they finally win.

You do realise that most of your mentioned artists wouldn't go near Eurovision. Yes it would be wonderful, but let's get to reality!

I´m still pretty sceptical about the news from UK. During the last years they often said things like "next year will be our time", and in the end it turned out to be the same hopeless stuff as always.

I saw people mentioning Foxes on Twitter, the more I think about it the better the idea sounds. She is signed to BMG, could really launch her career again and has the whole package to be a star (just not quite the backing to do so so far);

I mean, "Let Go for Tonight" would've been top 5 easy right?

I am talking about Foxes for years now. It almost looks like I don’t know any other British artist :lol: Something like Let Go fot Tonight, or Holding onto Heaven, or even Cruel would sound fresh and coul do well. xheat Now you are getting my hopes up.

It is possible that mans zelmerlow represents UK. If he doesn't succeed to represent Sweden again, I'm sure his next move is UK. He already was a host of UK selection 2x. And we already know the creature is obsessed with eurovision, so I wouldn't be surprised.
