J&J press conference :)

How damn refreshing to hear a UK entrant saying "Eurovision came up and we thought it'd be brilliant, to represent the UK would be great! Now that we've got it, it is incredible, amazing" instead of the usual shit "no idea why I'm doing it I must be mad!"

Also I've heard that the Telegraph has been very complimentary about the show and the selection, which I'm quite surprised about :p

I'm pretty happy with the result, think they'll do well... Wonder if any changes will be made, could do with a few tweaks to make it stand out - they are good vocally though and are an improvement on last year.

In a parallel universe though 'Body Talk' by Foxes wins Eurovision for the UK, would've been a fab entry...

I... don't know what to think, but let's summarize:

THE GOOD:
* Love the Keane/Coldplay-ish vibe.
* Good production.

THE BAD
* Not that bad vocals, but they really need to work on them.
* Sounds a little child-ish and outdated at times.

I really don't know if this is any good or bad: I'm going to give it 6/12.

And this is the first time I remember the UK's poll being top heavy :p

The UK is top heavy almost every year. For some reason Brits and Germans give their entries 12 points in the poll, no matter what. So the poll results aren't too representative.

12 Points
Blue - 37.03%
Molly 35.41%
Bonnie Tyler - 25.08%
Engelbert Humperdinck 24.08%
Joe & Jake 18.09%
Electro Velvet 18.02%

So this is actually one of the least impressive high scores for the U.K. The good news is that there aren't many low votes either, mostly mid-field.

Foxes has so many songs that would sound amazing on the Eurovision stage.....I can imagine "Better Love" having some super staging.
Perhaps her songwriters can be approached to write the next UK entry:)

First thought was Coldplay. Then I thought "hey this song is not that bad??".

I think this will do pretty well. It has charm and a nice melody.

6 points.

Thought it was a 0 at the start of the song... But it's kinda likable actually. 7pts

First post of 2016 for me and what can I say? It was definitely between the last 3 acts although I thought it was a pretty good UK final in the end.

Bianca was my first choice but I also felt Joe and Jake were a safe bet. It's certainly not a winner but it's worthy of positive praise and some points. They're cute and the chorus is catchy! With a decent stage...who knows. If it's just them singing like last night, it really will flop.

i give it 7 points

Eurovision: You Decide got 678,900 viewers last night, obviously that's much lower than when our selections were on BBC1, but apparently the slot average is normally 167,000, so much higher than normal.

In other words, only the genuinely interested tuned in, which must be seen as a good thing for the contest.

So United Denmark Kingdom decided for an easily forgettable pop song from a kind that was recorded 2344532 times before. The song does not hurt or bother... it just does nothing. After ESC final people will be like "Wait? Did UK actually send a song?" and even in the recap people wont notice the song. The stage alterations between the entries will be more noticeable than this song. 2 points.

My impression of the UK´s entry this year is just: "It´s ok". Could also have been an average DMGP song.
I assume UK won´t win in Stockholm, but also shouldn´t come last with this entry.

The song is indeed rather bland. There is nothing that sets it apart from a thousand other pop songs of that kind. But at least the boys seem to know how to perform. If they get out the energy in Stockholm they may do ok.

After several hearings I feel somewhat sorry for Darline. The song had such a nice upbeat flow, but those poor vocals ruined all their chances.
