Why we not often see good british music from UK? This one is generic, why not somebody like Sam Smith or Adel
AdelAdel for UK?

Damn it, UK. I thought this might happen. xcry

I mean... they were the second best of the lot, so things could have been much worse, but in a weak selection that's not saying too much. It's not terrible in any way, but somehow the UK's managed to send more of a 'forgettable Danish song' than the Danish did, which is almost impressive. I've listened to this a few times now trying to remember the melody, and it's still kinda vague in my head apart from some generic 'whoa-oh-ohs'... I can't imagine this really standing out in Stockholm.

It's nice to hear that a revamp is on the way, and I'm hoping that it'll blow me away with huge changes to the song that make me actually like it, but for now I don't think I can give any more than 4 points.

I think the song is not particularly exciting. I didn't watch the NF and I don't know the other songs but when I watched the video, I was under the impression that this won because the singer is good-looking and not because the song is that great. Unless the other songs were even worse.
I give it 6 points.

some people are so depressing! CHEER UP!

It's a good song... good singers... its getting a revamp... not even Mans looked good performing on that stage... let's see what happens in May

too many UK 'fans' complain about everything

Way to go UK!!! xheya :D

Good choice!!!
One of my three favourites and I'm usually pretty "Average-European" in ESC-music style.:D
This could go really well. :D

Eurovision voting is based on the live performance ;)

Fully agree, and she got what she deserved on the night. But as a Eurovision fan, It's the studio version I'll be listening to in the build-up and months (possibly) years afterwards. So if the studio version isn't up to scratch, then I'm struggling. I still love Children Of The Universe today. Can't say the same for any other recent UK entry. Back to your point, I have no doubt J+J's live performance will be better than Molly's. I just don't know if they have the song to with it. We'll see what they can do with it in the coming weeks and months.

Saying it's gonna flop and is destined for the bottom of the scoreboard IS pessimism though :?

It's not. Was it pessimistic to say how bad Electro Velvet were going to do? No, because it was plainly obvious. It's called realism. I'm not saying this will do as bad as EV, but I expect it to be be 15th to 20th at best.

Oh, and about the chav thing. I just got that impression from his look and his movement. Chav has got nothing to do with social standing or money in my view, it's a personality trait. We call them neds in Scotland. Like I said, I'm just basing it off tonight's show, and I don't watch The Voice so maybe he is a really nice person, and if so I take it back.

So we've done a Denmark. Ridiculously bland and throwaway. Good grief. Watching the live performance just now, I was actually cringing. Unlike some of our past atrocious entries, i'm unable to even enjoy this one ironically. I find it slightly more bearable than Ireland and Denmark this year, but that's really not saying much. The couple of times i've listened to this are enough to last me from now until May. Dull, drab, uninspired pop. 1 point.

Nothing from the selection was great, so it's certainly no big loss tonight, but i'd have chosen Bianca. She was the only one with a song I found to be totally inoffensive. By no means was her song special but her cookie cutter at least wasn't shaped like a square. I would have avoided the feeling of embarrassment.

it was my favourite before the show but I switched and voted Bianca for that amazing performance. We are just hoping to get some points and I'm glad we are sending a modern pop song for a change. Best entry since Blue for me.

Darline was the best option. The girls showed the could really sing live, and I could imagine a magical performance from them on Eurovision. The boys won, yeah, but they won´t do well and we all know that...

I can understand people saying Bianca, but Darline?! C'mon, the only way you could say that was the best tonight is if you were still going off the recorded version...

Well this ain't bad...surprisingly modern to be UK in the 21st century
It isn't something I will vote for...but I have nothing against if it end up top 20 which it could on a good night with a good draw.
Good Luck UK, I call this a step in the right direction after all! :D

Watching the performances Bianca didn't exactly help herself by constantly having her eyes closed. Every time it was a close up her eyes were barely open or closed and her head was looking down. It might have made a difference xshrug

Final thoughts about tonight: pretend Mans was the seventh act tonight and we'd chosen him, would you have said he was destined for winner, top 5 or even top 10??? Certainly not winner, probably not top 5 and possibly not top 10!! Yet he won, just last year.

Okay I might be a bit of a fanboy right now but give Joe & Jake a break and get behind them, they are the people's choice and wherever they finish on the scoreboard they will try their best and we can't ask any more than that!! We're trying something different and they're gonna put 110% effort into Eurovision, they've made that quite clear. What more do you want of them?

Its not a winner or top 10 for that matter but its much more respectable than our last entry, im just relieved I don't feel embarrassed and horrified.

Seems Mans was backing J&J, he Tweeted "Well voted UK! #joe&jake" and wishes the UK good luck for Stockholm :D

Turns out Mans is Joe's favourite Eurovision entry too ;)

Bianca or J&J were the only good performances of the night. The others were lacking.

The entry is good for me I enjoyed it a lot. Glad we've gone modern and not last years 1940s Electro-cheese. It wasn't perfect but let's be honest they showed they can sing. We're already doing better than our entries from the 00s.

Glad to hear about the revamp! It needs to be more catchy. Let's just hope it's a lot better than 2010s revamp xD
