My god the pessimism is so strong here :? This song could easily get top 10. It's catchy, modern and with the revamp it could be really really anthemic. Of course tonight wasn't their strongest performance, did you see the stage? Literally no room to move! They have a stage presence and I believe it's gonna radiate in Stockholm...

Wow, yes. How totally exciting. 20th place. Seriously. I cannot possibly wait for May.

But don't forget which place took Cascada xheart in Malmo! The placing sometimes doesn't tell anything in ESC! :)

It's not too bad although I would have preferred Darline. 6 points for now. It will need a good staging in Stockholm though as that's what has let us down in recent years

Well, the song certainly doesn't hurt anybody but the live vocals were dreadful. Jake and Joe have to improve their performance tremendously if they don't want to bomb at Eurovision.

I'd prefer to see us do well on the scoreboard tbh. I'm getting tired of us constantly being at the bottom, it's not even funny anymore tbh.

There's still time left to do so ;)

BTW I wonder whether the fact that they posed in a gay magazine has something to do with their victory. :)
Haha well I said it would ;)

Although I had the feeling that most of the Eurofans (therefore gays) were supporting Darline tonight. I imagine there was a last minute switch to J&J after their performance, so GT probably had little to do with it. Darline looked like two solo acts who had agreed to perform together, whereas J&J looked like a duo. I still thought it would be Bianca tho coz J&J isn't a song that would typically appeal to gays or Eurofans, and with it being BBC Four I thought it'd be only fans watching. But obvs the newspapers managed to get enough already folk watching putting it as their "pick of the day".

What really made me laugh tonight was that video where they banged on about the cliche jokey gimmicks being out and said what is needed to win, yet the BBC never follow that formula themselves.

THIS!

But I said this since Monday, I think some people expect us to send Handel or something

THE GOOD:

-It's got good instrumentals and good vocals.

THE BAD:

-Parts of the song sounded a bit sloppy.
-The chorus is a bit annoying.

THE VERDICT:

While I will say that it sounds better than some other entries so far, it's not a winner. I will commend the Beeb (BBC, not Beiber if you're wondering) for finally having a national final instead of the internal selection that they usually employ. While this is a good thing, the next song that they choose through this method can be better. 7 points

It's not pessimism, it's people with different views. I don't think it's catchy at all, modern doesn't = good and no way at all is this getting top 10.

You're entitles to your views, but don't dismiss opposing views as pessimism.

I think its the right direction. I think labeling them as a cheesy, good-looking pop duo is doing them a huge discredit. It's a catchy song. People of all ages seem to have enjoyed it. My Mum did and she's in her 40s!

Its high energy. To win with a ballad, you need to be seriously good and different to the other ballads. I liked Bianca, but I don't think she is anywhere close to Polina or Conchita. We're better trying to get something current and high tempo, or something different. I saw evidence of that tonight with a few of the acts.

They're not going to win. They might not even do that well. But the selection process seemed to work quite well for the first time, and even if you're not happy with the result... Josh, Daz Sampson, Scooch... I think everyone on the stage (minus the bore who I've completely forgotten about) would be far more respectable than any of them.

It's ok, not bad but not exciting or memorable either.
I feel like it is the kind of song I will forget is even in the competition once we get the next batch of winners.

Really enjoyed the national final, 6 great songs, it was great that we got to choose. I was torn between Dulcima and Darline, but voted for Dulcima. I expected Bianca to win, and had pretty much discounted Joe and Jake as winners, so was pretty shocked by the result. I think "You're not alone" is a good song, but the staging is going to be really important to make it stand out from the other 25 in the final.

Great to finally have someone who didn't support J&J not coming out and talking shit about them!!

It's very damaging when home fans are like OMG NUL POINTS just coz their fave didn't win the selection. I'm a massive Jordan fan and was gutted when she lost, I still was behind Javine when she represented us in Kiev. I wanted Mark to win in 2009, but he was clearly beaten by Jade in the NF so I totally backed her after that.
