Yes, something other than pop would be nice from the UK next year.
@bbceurovisionYer I thought the same tbh. Think it will be hard to convince a known artist.
Just a quickie... What good eurovision accounts should I follow? Ideally ones which will contain latest news on UK (later in the year etc). Sorry, but only just joined twitter
I'm just reading the twitter feed from last night and it's actually surprisingly positive. Most people seem happy we got so many points which is good, only a few "block voting" moans from the likes of richard madely haha!

Part of my slight disappointment in 11th was the fact that many people would probably think that if Blue can't even manage Top 10 we should just withdraw and not bother with it.
This was by far the worst live singing of the night (actually the whole performance was awful).
Guys was very arrogant and conceited and they was convicted that Blue is winner, we are the best blah blah blah.
The UK just need to find their Lena or Alexander Rybak. Europe wants to hear something modern, exciting and fresh. Not boyband pop they've been hearing every year...
I'm going to go out on a limb here - the UK has one of the best music scenes in the world. And there's so many types of music popular in the UK - metal, indie, folk-rock, country, classical. Why must you constrict yourself to middle of the road pop?
I know some people think we should stick to internal selections, but I think we should do exactly the opposite. I think the BBC should allow people to apply with their own songs and submit them online. Songs which generate interest could go up for a public vote
It's the BBC. We're never given a good choice, or a choice at all!
I know some people think we should stick to internal selections, but I think we should do exactly the opposite. I think the BBC should allow people to apply with their own songs and submit them online. Songs which generate interest could go up for a public vote. We have so many good artists in this country, both big names and people writing their own music playing in local venues. Rather than letting the BBC choose, or letting the public decide between 6 'Cheesy Eurovision' acts, let's create a wider pool of acts. If we enter a bad act, it's our own fault, and we can't blame anyone else. If anything, it won't leave us so disgruntled this time next year
