body in Bulgaria, heart in Greece (^_^)
I think the performance was kinda "forced". It was too intence and kinda nervous.
On the other hand (let`s say) the moldovan performance was waaaaaaay smoother and Zdob si Zdub just had fun on the stage.

11th is a big improvement from 25th, right ;)

yer, 10th sounds better :)

Yeah, we have beaten you. ;) Ah, never mind. Just blame the block voting for missing the top 10. ;)

I think Blue was cheating. Yes, cheating. There is a rule, that only 6 persons are allowed on stage. The cannot bring bigger than alive displays showing the blue members a second. So there were 10 people on the stage. ;)

Okay, I`m just joking. I liked it, that UK took this more serious. This was the best entry for years and I just read, that the interest in the ESC increased. That marvelous.

This is what I found on eurovision.tv:

Large audience share

According to the official BBC broadcasting figures, there were an average 9.54 million viewers watching the show in the United Kingdom. This represented an audience share of 40.4% between 8.00 pm and 11.30pm GMT.

The appearance of both Blue for the United Kingdom and Jedward for Ireland are believed to be huge contributors in attracing more viewers.
Newspaper reactions in United Kingdom

Meanwhile, the newspaper reactions have been generally positive, with the Daily Mail positive about the perfomance, and saying that Blue had done themselves proud. It was a similar story in the Metro, where the improvement on previous years results for the United Kingdom and Ireland were highlighted.

The Sun reports that Jedward's manager, and X Factor judge Louis Walsh had said "We might do a Lena, and bring Jedward back again next year to Eurovision."

They also reported that Blue had been drowning their sorrows at the after show party until 6am, quoting band member Simon Webbe as saying "It's often not really about the song, but who your neighbours are, but we are very proud of what we did."

That is very good news for the UK. On one hand, it could have a positive impact on esc 2012 for us. It could have shown everyone that Esc can and should be taken seriously and that we have improved. BUT, it could be negative in that people think 'if Blue fail, who'll do well?'. I'm hoping it's the first one :)

It soundede bad. Simple enough. They were my favorite but not after that live performance where i wanted to just shut my ears

The "I Can" sounded too much like some forgotten 1990s hit of Backstreet Boys found from some box in someones attic:geek:
The song was not that bad from video:) Much better certainly than the last years entry,
though not really my personal favorite.
The live performance was quite weak, I expected better actually:confused:
And I have to say that I found the led-screens, with the "mug shots", quite amusing:mrgreen: I felt as if they where trying to reminds of who is at the stage during the performance.

Well, Blue even admitted they were only using Eurovision as a platform to get back into the European market, so the entire performance was based around selling the 'Blue' brand :p

They were my faves prior to the contest, but as soon as I saw the rehearsal (not even the show) they dropped out of my top 10. Those screens were just .....ridiculous. I can't believe that a worldwide known band had such bad and confusing stage presentation. And the vocal performance wasn't any better either. Perhaps even the worst one this year. So, considering this, 11th place is more than they deserved. The song is not even 10% as good as the studio version when performed this bad. I still like Blue, but what they offered on stage is very disappointing. The result is fair.

I dont know why people havent liked the screens, I thought they were brilliant. Im very disappointed with the result still, the fact that Blue only received 3 more points than Moldova is imo disgraceful, but Im glad that Eurovision's profile in the United Kingdom has been raised, thanks to Blue and Jedward. I hope that the support holds up because unfortunately a lot of people watched this contest and saw us finish 11th when everybody here expected to win :(.

They deserved a much higher ranking.

Have to agree with MyheartisYours.....the result for Blue was more than disappointing.......and three points more than Moldova.....what a joke!!!!!!!

My theory is that everyone thought the whole of Europe was going to vote for Blue anyways, so it's not like they will be in trouble or anything....then why not vote for the underdogs??? It's what I would have done if I were allowed to vote!! ;) It's always good to support what the majority don't like~~ XDDDD

I doubt many people even knew who are the favorites in this contest (and by the ranking of fans who are often, as we can see, not right). I am pretty sure that people who aren't ESC fans didn't think like "Oh, they are the favorites, I won't vote for them, I'll vote for someone like....Italy". They didn't vote for them, because the stage presentation was poor and they sang badly too. Non-esc fans don't judge the same things as we do here, so that is another thing why this contest is so unpredictable.

The staging was really, really poor and this let Blue down. As did their terrible, cheap suits. Compare the camera work and 'selling it' to the performances of Eric Saade and Lena. It just wasn't there. By all accounts they sang poorly in front of the juries which was no doubt a further setback. Well executed it would have been top 5. As it was, it understandably missed out on top 10.

This is not a secret that Blue was leading my TOP 10 list until the last days of ESC when I saw their terrible rehearsal. Sorry UK, but for me Blue was the biggest failure of ESC 2011 :(

Watched it back and I don't think the vocals were that bad. It's the staging that was a big problem. Those screens were a big mistake. By having a clear marker showing where the back of the stage is, it made the space look a lot bigger and they then weren't able to fill that space. There's also the element of arrogance by having a big picture of your pretty face on display.

Blue managed #22 in the chart this week.

Not a massive number but it's their 3rd week in the chart, can't remember any other Eurovision song clinging on for that long

11th place was something like 10 places above what I would have given the ''boys''... As much as I loved Jade, I hated ''Bland'', oops ''Blue"' ! ;)
