Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

does simon cowell hate eurovision ? sorry im not aware why thats an issue with leona being at eurovision

Simon Cowell owns Leona's contract and earns him money... he wouldn't allow her to do it. If she didn't win she'd lose fans and support. If she entered she would have to win to keep her contract and the rest. It's a too big risk. Especially when people in europe already buy her music.

so taking 4 months out to do one song which may not win a contest (as most people here think the UK is hated and won't be voted for) would be a correct use of her time? If she's established in the states she'd earn much more money making and promoting an album.

Leona is not that big in the US. Most people know her song "Bleeding love" but that's about it. Currently she would fall into the "One hit wonder" category.

While I also would love to see her in Duesseldorf we all know it's not going to happen.

It's not her finances that are the problem, her record company can make more if she makes an album thats all. To repeat matt.. it's not gonna happen xD

It seriously would hurt any big artist to take part in Eurovision. If they were announced as the representative, the media would ridicule them and then whoever it might be would be saying 'I have no idea why Im doing Eurovision, I must be bonkers' or something along those lines .

Actually I think the biggest problem is that anything but victory would be considered a failure for any big name artist which would definitely hurt their career. So I don't blame them for not even considering the option. It would take a brave brave artist to take that risk.

If you are referring to Susan Boyle, prime example of the fact she would be expected to come first or ruin her career. She's had two massive selling albums, but better working on a 3rd album than eurovision. Besides she's Simon Cowell's property too

Pretty sure Alexandra's still touring come may, but she'd be amazing. :p Don't think that'll happen though. BBC facebook page were discussing Peter Andre may try... LOL

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

There are several reasons why you won't see a Simon Cowell act on Eurovision (thank God). First, there's all the usual stuff about big name artists not wanting to take the risk of entering and failing at what is considered a joke competition by many in the UK.

Second, there's the fact that Simon Cowell's TV shows are all on ITV, not BBC. Last year, Britain's Got Talent was screened head to head with Eurovision. Why promote a competitor's show?

Third, if Simon Cowell wanted one of his acts to get publicity from a much-hyped appearance on a televised talent show, he already has several of his own to choose from.

Fourth, and most important of all, he wouldn't make much money from it.

Oh ffs, if Peter Andre does it I will hang myself... :| Unfortunately he would be the type of person who would do it though :/.

As for Britain's Got Talent, it's really disappointing. Means Eurovision's gonna come second in the ratings again :(.
