Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

BBC announced on twitter that information on the selection process will be revealed within the next two weeks.

"We've got exciting news to announce about the uk's eurovisoin entry this year. Can't say when, but should be within the next two weeks".

Oooh a bit of news at last.Thanks.It's gonna feel like the longest two weeks of my life.I'm itchin' to know who's taking part !

I would love for the UK representative to be Beverley Knight ,or Natasha Hamilton.
They were both on a tv show (a couple of years ago ?) 'Just The Two Of Us' ,and showed every week that they could sing different types of songs, and sing them live.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

I'm surprised everyone have ruled out the Sugababes?

1) Their last two albums have been flops, so it's not like Eurovision could kill their career at the moment?
2) They're currently working on a new album, that will probably be released this year, and the first single might very well debut this spring (Eurovision entry?)
3) Jade already has Eurovision experience, and I think she might convince the other girls to try it out.

In this moment when their career is on a downward spiral, even domestically, what's there to loose really? Their "brand" is still known though and this could possibly lead to regain some of that loss European success again.

Now, I don't think it's going to be them, but it's not impossible as I see it.

Sugababes are releasing a new album very soon, and their last album flopped due to keisha's fans backfiring and the fact the only good songs on the album were released as singles previously as well although i'd love it to be them. I'm about 90% sure it'll be Charlotte Church though

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

I hope the BBC don’t mess things up again this year, last year was an absolute embarrassment, they are so bad with Eurovision, I don’t know why it is so hard for them to take things seriously have proper national finals like other countries... another thing I don’t like is that Eurovision has such a bad reputation in this country, I know many people here that hate it and the media’s constant bashing makes it worse, doesn’t help at all. :(
Anyway I hope this announcement of their plans is good for once and we won’t have another horrible year...

Anyway let's put the negative aside, hello everyone, as you can tell I’m new here ^^

I dont think Olly would do very well, he's too British and as we have found in the past, only Ireland and Malta like British stuff.
Im gunna keep hoping for The Wanted ;).

And welcome Cjs45 :D.

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

Both The Wanted and Olly Murs are good! Why would Olly Murs be too british? His songs are also here on the radio and I'm loving it :D!!

Hurts would also be awesome, but the chance that they'll participate is very small, I think.

And welcome cjs45 ;)

Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2011

Welcome Cjs45! xwelcome

I've started to see Danyl Johnson's name crop up in rumours now (X Factor 2009). Would be kinda funny if Jedward won in Ireland, x Factor reunion  But I would rather it wasn't him, doesn't seem like he'd be able to have a great song and it'd probably end up like Andy Abraham (even though his song and performance was great  *hides*)

Apparently he let slip that the BBC had approached him for an 'exciting project' early in 2011 that'd boost his career.
