this is an extremely bad take and i say this as someone who is very much pro-ukraine in my positions lmaoso Russia really is most important for her (if this is true)

Even if no one is innocent in this scenario and definitely not Maruv either, but UA
BC did handle this situation poorly prior to Maruv's victory. Allowing (or maybe actually scripted) Jamala to bring up Crimea against competing artists live infront of the many ukrainians at home is fishy.
But yeah, Maruv being human and making these mistakes does hurt her career. This makes this situation much more transparent, Maruv being a corporative product of the Russian musicindustry should have kept the mask. In other words, doing what [MENTION=5686]Sabiondo[/MENTION] wrote when quoted you.
So wait, if true that the whole thing boils down to that Maruv's Russian label unwilling to sign over the rights to EBU, then this is really not the fault of the Ukrainian broadcaster at all since EBU should have the rights to all entries per contract

I wonder that for next #Vidbir2020 they will include a clause for all the participants that they could DQ them, in case that they are found that they have acted or having links with '' enemiy'' without the consent of the channel

Relax, it was a bad joke midst all of this chaos...
[MENTION=5686]Sabiondo[/MENTION] I don't think she's so innocent as people try to make her, she breached her contract by posting parts of it on social media and she was very quick to do that, also if her label is not allowing EBU the rights then how is that the broadcaster's fault? I am still surprised that people are surprised about the existence of winners' contracts with their respective broadcasters since all winners sign those (Maruv being the first to post it online though)... most of the stuff she posted are normal stuff in such contracts tbh... rights for the entry, clearing her schedule for ESC-related events and rehearsals, not changing the show without approval of the broadcaster etc ... nothing strange really and you'd see the same stuff in most winners' contracts... the rest we read are just some comments by some politician and troll comments... none of these are parts of her contract though so

This is EBU's demand. They fine broadcasters if their representatives abolish the rules. We've already paid for Greenjolly & Alyosha.

Turning down being a political tool opposite to what Maruv's brand represents is indeed a good move, but to reveal her feelings about this in social media is not. Maruv's agreement with Russian labels should be secrecy in favor of protecting her brand and Maruv should have kept doing her business. This is about to see both sides of the coin.

What happened with Greenjolly? And didn’t reason for Alyosha’s fine was that Sweet People was chosen after the deadline, because the first song was published in 2008 or smth?

I never understood totally..in 2010 Vasil Lazarovich was chosen while "pro western" allies were in charge of NTU, and then was a change of government or president to Pro Russian and new people in charge at NTU decided to organize New NF and Alyosha was chosen. Right?

The most hilarious part of that bizarre contract is where they talk about "the opinion of the Ukrainian people". As if that existed - one opinion of a whole people. This is obviously to be read as "the opinion of the Ukranian government". I can't remember a more obvious political intervention into the song contest.

The said that CyBC leaked Tamta's song because they realised the similarities with Maruv's song....So they wanted to catch the attention of the fans....
