In her instagram. She called the EBU's copyright demand "absurd".
As for "press freedom"... even at JESC our accredited journalists had to ask our own HoD and then interview the participants. + considering that EBU fines journalists and performers for political questions in the press room this rule makes sense indeed.

This story that Maruv did this intentionally for sake of getting attention and promote herself doesn't make sense to me. Sorry. This scandal is limited to Ukraine and ESC fans, nobody really cares about ESC preselections. Maruv would get much bigger and better promotion if she had gone to ESC in Tel Aviv. We all know that, so please, stop accusing this woman of some sort of nation-size scheme. This is ridiculous. Gurl got scr--d over and that's all. Enjoy, guys, debating, I am tuning out.

Maruv was already slapping herself on stage and her friends have followed. Their sins are forgotten!



To be honest I've expected to see her in Amsterdam in April... Too bad, it would be my bf's first Eurovision event ever. Maybe he'd even get hit by that guitar drop and we could bring it home.

Except Eurovision is big here and in Russia. Now she's a "victim" and she can get even more money touring Russia. Not to mention that Vidbir was #1 news here for days (according to news sites stats), millions of views on Youtube so she can tour Ukraine and rise her price for concerts & corporate parties (like all of our Eurovision stars do).

Her disagreeing with basic EBU rules that she has already known makes no sense even more.

Feel sorry for Maruv? Nah. She got such levels of PR and popularity now she didnt have before NF and I doubt she would get after Eurovision. She is person #1 to talk about for such big amount of people, now she will be invited everywhere, number of concerts increase etc.

Feel sorry for people who voted for her? Nah. I voted for her too btw but that outcome didnt change my life at all, just another fave from another NF got lost and...what?

I am super sick of that Ukraine-Russia scandals for years now, its not only Eurovision, its non-stop everywhere, and NKTU, scandals on Vidbir Final or Maruv herself didnt help, only make it worse. That hysteria (4939959394949299492949292294929th one) on russian mass media is xpuke

Freedom Jazz already refuse, as do Kazka, Anna Maria and someone else afaik. They will all refuse I'd imagine. One big drama.

The bolded part is not entirely true. The New York Times and AP covered it, and I think Maruv was trending in France (maybe a different country). Not to mention all the coverage in Russia.
