OK, my point is that TRT hates Turkic union idea whereas you say TRT likes this idea. Also, TRT is not partly connected to government, TRT is totally connected to government. I'm also against the ones who claim that TRT's main reason for withdrawal is big 5 and/or unfair?! voting.

I have no idea what TRT thinks about all that, and also I wasn't sure to what extent they were connected to the government (so thank you for clarifying that).

Tbh I never said that I believe their official reasons for withdrawal, so again I'm not exactly sure about what point you were trying to make? I also think there's more to this than their official reasons, not exactly sure what but my comment about Turkvision was just some speculation on what, but I see you not agreeing with that? Which is fine because it was just vague speculation anyways with a bit sarcasm added to it aswell.

Whatever the reasons for TRT's withdrawal, I find their attitude bad and I do feel sorry for the Turkish ESC fans but in the meantime I can't really miss someone with a lousy attitude (TRT). Hopefully another broadcaster could take on this project and give the Turkish ESC fans what they want.

My message was not only to you, it was actually to whom thinks that the main reason of withdrawal is Big 5 or any other ESC rule.
And yes, those new Turkishvision things are some kind of substitutes and they are lame excuses of TRT, as you mentioned. Not that they are fan of Turkic related things.

According to you, TRT has a secret agenda and you speak as if you're a commission member of TRT :?. A typical neurotic, psycho ultra-nationalist Turkish mind. Yes I do generalizations in this manner, because it's quite easy to detect people like you.

TRT is a state foundation. On the other hand, according to Turkish constitution, its status is autonomous. So the government cannot directly interfere with TRT's decisions. On the other hand, selected commission members of TRT should be approved by government to be an official member.

Therefore, government cannot officially tell to the TRT what to do about Eurovision decision.

And also all private channels are out of government impression.

I see, well I thought it was a response to me since you responded to my comment with that one, so that's the reason I got a bit confused.

Agree with the latter.

Being close to the government and managed by the government are different things. It is obvious that some private TV channels in Turkey prefer doing more government sided news, on the other hand, there are also other TV channels merely make anti-government news. I see lots of people just watch anti-government TV channels and blame all others or vice versa. What's the difference? The significant thing is having both.

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The Turkish national broadcaster TRT will hold talks with the EBU regarding the new Eurovision rules in a last ditch attempt to see Turkey at next year’s contest. Talks will be held in Istanbul between TRT manager, Ibrahim Sahin, and EBU’s Broadcasting Committee in two weeks time.

Turkey, which withdrew from this year’s contest, is unhappy with the rule changes which have taken place over the past few years citing a lack of transparency and jury bias. This week, the EBU addressed these concerns with new rules regarding jury votes. However, it is believed this won’t be enough to tempt TRT to return to the contest.

TRT has issued the following statement, “With the new changes of the rules which will give more transparency about the results, where the juries also will have to explain how they voted the day after the contest, it is of course important to have a chance to object to the results, but our criterias haven’t been met yet. Think about a country that 10 millions of fans voted for in the contest and then only three people can change the result with 50% of the final results. Jury result should therefore be limited and the public opinion matter most. And there is also an absurdity about the big five (Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and France) who we think should have to qualify as well via the the semi-finals. After the meeting that will be held in two weeks in İstanbul, we will give our final decision about maybe joining the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen”.

Although I do agree with TRT to some extent, I think Turkey is the last country to state anything because ending up top. 5 almost every year is pretty damn good and nothing to whine about!

ugh. really. TRT only threw a fit because they failed to make the 2011 final and the huge Turkish Diaspora across Europe was watered down a lot. Thing is since the created of the 50/50 system Turkey has done better so i don't see their reason for such dissatisfaction. For me personally i don't want the EBU to make changes, and i think eurovision is a better place without TRT. But i understand what great news this could be for all the Turkish eurovision fans who hope for a return.

EBU apologized TRT and announced they will re-evaluate voting system for next year, according to news. Türkiye'ye Eurovision özrü - Müzik- ntvmsnbc.com

TRT announced Turkey will not participate in this year, but with changes EBU will do, Turkey might participate in 2015.

I want Turkey to return, but I surely hope the 'EBU apologised to TRT and will re-evaluate voting system' part is false. And it must be. Why the hell would the EBU have to apologize TRT?

I don't know but this news are coming from the most serious Turkish news company, which is part of msnbc. The meeting held between Jean Paul Philippot, the head of EBU and Ibrahim Sahin, the head of TRT. It was previously announced they'll have a meeting.

Well whatever it is, Turkey has a significant part of audience for ESC. EBU doesn't want to lose Turkey for long time.
