But regardless them broadcasting 2014 is a good indicator that they're interested in Eurovision still

The 'it's all political' rhetoric is dying down in the UK now. Most people realise the BBC are just shite at choosing songs

I'm surprised its taken this long xshrug. We seem to get more points from Eastern Europe than west anyway. Its easier to strain blood from a rock than it is to get points off some of our closest neighbours.

Well. In 2011 the BBC did try. But after the failure they were obvs like F this shi*t. Send Englebert next year.

That failure didn't really hurt since Englebert was much more deserving than Blue. "Love Will Set You Free" was classy and well performed, whereas "I Can" was just painful and ridiculous to watch. For once, the juries did their job right. What can one expect when 4 people only rely on their physiques and can't even give a decent performance?

I hope that following Bonnie Tyler's failure, BBC will understand that the song is more important than how famous the singer is.

Sorry to dig up a dead, unimportant thread but I really wanted to share this..

When Turkey decide to get off of their invisible high horse they've built themselves, they would do well to send the fantastic Sertab Erener again. If anyone can come back and retain their crown, it's her. Some of her songs are exquisite.

I miss one of my favourite Eurovision countries.

Which countries do you think will come back for next years anniversary? It feels pretty clear (or I hope so) that Turkey and Serbia will come back, but do you think some more country will come back? I think Bosnia & Herzegovina will return just because it was their intention to do so this year. I don't know how intrested Bulgaria and Croatia are in the contest, but it doesn't feel like they will make their comeback next year. Maybe Cyprus but I don't know how their economy is there right now... What do you think? Do you think some country will make a surprise comeback for the anniversary?

And it would be really fun if the 2015 Contest could beat the participation record!

Bulagaria said that it was just a one year break.

^ I totally agree. Sertab is one of the best winners of Eurovision. She still sounds great!

Yeah, I would say she's probably my favourite winner of the contest and her song was a gateway for me in seeking out other folk/enthno songs. It was so exciting at the time to hear her song playing in England, on the radio and on the music channels on tv.

It's dangerous for a winner to come back. They risk a lot but I imagine with the right song, Sertab could storm the win, especially if she was to be Turkey's first entrant on their return.
