I never liked Turkey in Eurovision. I found them very arrogant about it, and that fit they threw over the new voting system (even though they were doing better) was enough to seal it for me. I was hoping not to see them back for some years to come.

True, they aren't the greatest country... but hey, they're technically in Europe and the contest should have as many European countries as possible

I think it's one thing to withdraw based on legit reasons, but to complain that you're not top. 5 each year (because of diaspora votes) is just ridic

Well not that. I did like some songs, I just found them arrogant. Which always annoyed me.

I've been just trying to get used to the fact that we won't be back at least 5 more years lol and why am I not that happy about this news?

I think that return will be delayed a year if the contest is held in Armenia next year, just saying.

I'm sort of split in the question of Turkey at the ESC... I mean the behaviour of TRT and the reason for their withdrawal is ridiculous, and I also don't like diaspora voting (I don't think diaspora voting in general is such a big deal as people say, but in the case of Turkey it really seems like it's prevalent)
But on the other hand I always quite liked most of Turkey's entries of the last 17 years or so, feel like that despite the diaspora votings their high placings were justified, and would like to hear more Turkish songs at the ESC actually

If TRT is over themselves and their butthurt, I'm happy to see them back.

Anyway, Turkey has some good entries and some bad entries, in my opinion. My favourites are 1997, 2003 and 2008.

I would actually truly adore something like "Dinle".
