For such a runaway fave I actually don't have any strong opinion either way on the song or the performance!

Same. It didn't really stir any particular emotion in me last night (good or bad). Knowing it's considered winning-material, I'm not sure what to make of it xthink

I am not a fan of the song and didn’t understand why it was one of the favourites, but i must say last night his performance was stunning and makes those casual viewers/voters pick up their phone and vote. It’s all about those 3 minutes, and Duncan really nailed it. Again, not a fan of the song but I wouldn’t be upset if it wins or place on the top.

I don't like the staging, it was a lot more emotional during his Amsterdam pre-party performance.
But the song is too good to lose, still a winner for me.

I'm really sad to not like the song, when I read your comments I just keep thinking "what am I missing?". If the Netherlands win this year I think that it will be the first for me where I'm not convinced by the song OR the live performance. I'm not a hater, to me it's really middle of the road. Well I guess people are very confident on his victory so it probably will happen.

No doubt, the song is fabulous. At least in the studio version. It was once my no. 1 but now he's down to 3 - 6, depends on my mood. The live performance wasn't very convincing and I'm very SAD about this. I wished he did more so that I could really LOVE it as a winner, not only "it's a good song, I don't mind him winning" as of now.
But maybe it's because I listened too much to it in the studio version. I thought live he was a tiny bit too fast with singing and too "screamy" (of course he wasn't screaming but I felt the softer voice in the studio version is more appropriate).

Sometimes you just don't need anything else than a strong song sung well. Duncan managed to transfer the emotions to me and the staging - backdrop, lighting, cameras - created the atmosphere this song needed. The climax at the end is the moment when viewers (or at least me) just get goosebumps and go "WOW!"

Can't wait to go to Netherlands next year xcheer

I agree ! I should miss something in Arcade. It's not a winner for me nor the winning song BUT I will be the first to congratulate him if he wins cause he would have won fair and square by the rules of this contest. I'm not a "sore loser" (well I have nothing to loose lmao). Everybody seems to agree he's the winner, I'm beginning to believe it too.

I didn't think Italy was winning in 2017 too but I was also convinced by everybody with the hype that was surrounding him in 2017. Let's see if he's gonna have the same fate or not.

This time 2 years ago Italy had lost all the hype already. I checked and compared several rehearsal views of Italy 2017&Netherlands 2019 and the one for Netherlands 2019 sounds much more favourable by faaaar.

It's not really about the rehearsal actually, it's just the song that does nothing to me. I liked Occidentali's Karma but that was no winner for me, I was surprised when I saw the hype, same with Arcade, the song is good but not great if I have to be honest.

more explanations :

Not saying it won't 100% win though and as I said I'm beginning to believe it could win and I'll be the first to congratulate him.

I wouldn't mind to see him win, but it's too soon to say. I don't have any particular favourite this year.

I can't believe how beautiful and touching this still is - both the song and even more the staging!! I'm so in love with it! Especially the part with the light at the end is so strong!

If Netherlands are to win, I want a close vote at least. I don't want to be staring at the screen after the jury results come in and he's already won.

If he wins, it will only be because of the song. That's pretty rare in Eurovision considering how often the staging, the political message or the country of origin have influenced the outcome in recent years. What a time to be alive. :D

+ Eurovision also desperately needs a radio-friendly winning song after the 2016-18 winners...
