I have a Feeling many Tears will fall tomorrow after Duncan rightfully loses Eurovision to Zero Gravity

I admit I will be sad! But I will be proud though .... Duncan gave me the best Eurovision time of my life as a representation of my country.

I think everone who makes an effort has a right to win. If it it will be Australia in the end, I am okay because I actually realy like her act and song.

We'll see, but I definitely won't cry. It is a contest, not a life-changing event.

And if Australia wins then it is nice for all the people supporting her and she would deserve it. It is not a war, but some people here do seem to think it is.

Meh. I am aware Duncan probably wins tonight, but I always root against overdogs, even when I like said overdog.

Thank you Duncan for giving us Dutch and supporters of Arcade fans a wonderful Eurovision season. From the moment Arcade was released up until now, the Netherlands has been number 1 at the betting odds and never lost his momentum. I've been enjoying this Eurovision season so much. I think Arcade should win tonight, not because it is my own country's entry, but because I personally think the song deserves to win. It's a wonderful song and a wonderful performance that is giving me chills. Some might think otherwise, and that's fine too, but I've never been more proud at a Dutch entry.

But not only that, Duncan has been an absolute charming, friendly, enthusiastic and lovely representant for the Netherlands. He is so genuine and genuinely enjoying all of this. I grew to love him and it feels like the whole country did. Thank you for that.

Whatever happens tonight, we might finally win the contest again after 44 years, we might not, but Eurovision 2019 is one to remember. Of course I'd be frustrated if we won't win tonight but that doesn't mean I won't be proud anymore, nor that it would be undeserved for the winning country. But I hope it all will pay off tonight with a Dutch victory.

Good luck to Duncan tonight but as well to all other contestants! xheya

Haha. I totally understand. Everybody likes an underdog. I am always biased towards the supposed winner too. That is why I still hope it will be surprising tonight. I wouldn’t like a landslide victory.

I totally understand that feeling! I’m like that too. But in this year, this case I have other sentiments xpray

This will most likely win tonight. BorisBubbles summarizes superbly also my feelings. However, I would add also that I am probably a little bit hating - and TOTALLY UNFAIRLY - on this song just because of these stupid bloggers who are shoving one and the same songs into our throats. But when I forget my resentment towards various bloggers, then I say that I'd prefer Dutch win tonight over any other fan favorites. Especially, I hope that Australia doesn't win. I think that props shouldn't not win the ESC, cuz in the end, the song is rather poor and the majority of people didn't like it before the ESC. So, I think it would be really pathetic that we get a winner that no-one actually will listen to once the lights go out.

Well, if it has to win, then at least there’s a chance Carice van Houten will host it.. But I don’t see it as a winner.

Funny but I still somehow feel the Netherlands is the underdog, despite the song being top dog ever since its release. Simply because the country hasn't won Eurovision in 44 years, and had a real hard time qualifying earlier this century.

I get that!!! Belgium has been in my top five more times than any other country and also provided the highest amount favourite entries across all the contests that I've seen. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing your own home country bring the quality. So i'm happy for you guys!! I just wish the rest of the Duncan fanbase weren't so defensive though. :-/ Like, some people don't like your song... get over it? lol.

As for Arcade itself. I would be more into it if it were more than just A Really Good Song. See, I don't really watch ESC for the music (mostly because the music in ESC is :gasp: not very good. I'm sure y'all are shocked by that relevation). Being from the Benelux myself, I hear a lot of songs like Arcade on the radio on a daily basis, most of which are... better than Arcade, lol? Yes, emotional vulnerability, but again, others bring that too and do it better (Sebi).

Besides, name a song that isn't emotional in some way. Emotion is the building block of music, but what clinches it for me is personality and Arcade is very average in that regard for me. Even Too Late For Love, which if I had synesthesia would claim had the smell of a showroom Lamborghini (ie: it's quality but not something you'd ride on a daily basis) is plucky and sassy, not to mention how batshit bonkers insane stuff like Truth, Hatrið Mun Sigra or Zero Gravity is. Arcade is about as vanilla as it gets and while I do like vanilla from time to time, I would be disappointed if it were rewarded, again, over more interesting, unique and daring entries, again.

BUT AT LEAST I'LL BE ABLE TO ATTEND NEXT YEAR WITHOUT BANKRUPTING MYSELF so at least there's that silver lining.

Ah you know how Dutch people can be: very loud and vocal. If you go to the north of the Netherlands, you will actually meet people that are more modest and humble. I get anoyed too when I see the defensive and agressive posts of people of my country. Ugh ... they make a fool out of themselves and don’t do anything good for Duncan and his song. I also feel shame when I see soms Dutchie fools posting negative comments about other paticipants.

I think this is the first song of the Netherlands I like a lot since I’m watching. But this song is not on my playlist. I think I like Australia the most and 2nd Netherlands. Other years I’ve had songs that I did have on my playlist. But I have a bit of a different taste then most. Last year my favorite was Danmark with the Viking song. And I liked UK with storm. In 2017 I actualy liked city lights of Belgium the most and Yodel it from Romania. Mostly I prefer upbeat and fun songs with a catchy chorus. I don’t enjoy emotional music that much. I don’t like feeling depressed. I want to feel joy.

Oh, your song this year is SMASHING BEAUTIFUL! xheart xlovexkiss
I understand you, but in my opinion Netherlands have had good songs since Anouk entered the Eurovion in 2013. So, to me there is no surprise at all you are in top this year.
A HUGE good luck to you! xlove

Congratulations Netherlands! Although it would have been nice if we didn't know the winner already before the show.

Good luck to the Netherlands! The stars are aligning in favour for a gentle song as well.

What is funny, is that usually OTT staging is not selling enough for the win, but Toy and Fuego made many delegations go over the top this year.

Definitely agree. I have a feeling I'll be bawling my eyes out, I don't know why but I've envisioned a winning moment for Duncan for the past few days - the trophy sitting on the piano during the winner's reprise and then the confetti starting to fall on the penultimate chorus. Would be an emotional moment for me for sure

They could just lower the trophy on the piano instead of the lamp. Maybe even during the first performance. ;)

She would be a cool host. I like her accent. She could wear a red dress. :)
