It's the first time in forever that my own country is also my favorite entry at Eurovision. It will also be the first time that I can truly enjoy the semi-finals without having any nerves of not qualifying. The Grand-final will be another story, that will be horrible especially with the new voting sequence. I still think Italy has the better papers since Italy has more 'friends' than The Netherlands to fall back on. I think countries like Montenegro will easier vote for Italy than for The Netherlands and that will probably push Italy a bit further, but I hope The Netherlands will win, 2020 could be a year full of bucketlist things if that will happen.

But I'm very proud that we have such an amazing entry and weirdly enough I think the stagng will be fine. I think Duncan and Ilse have a clear idea in what they want and it is to Hans to make it perfect.

The big favorite this year. I like the song and it's the best the Netherlands has sent for a long time. Nevertheless, I don't feel that it is already folded for them. The live and the staging will be decisive but I see it at least in the Top 5 sure.

Its not breaking the rules because its not commercially released. Its just a video that less than 500 people watched. So no drama here.

Imo this should be disqualified. Clearly breaking the rules, but EBU won’t take any action I think.

The Eurovision rules are clear: it can be a demo, a live performance, etc. but can not be commercially released before.

Duncan celebrated 10 million streams of "Arcade" on social media today. Shame a few trolls had to ruin the fun by posting "#stepbackfromeurovision" on his Instagram (mainly private accounts and those with little to no posts), they have no idea how many hearts and souls he has touched with plenty more to come at the contest I'm sure

^I think alot of people are jealous of his success and his potential win. There is basically no breaking of rules here, these people are simply ignorant. I feel that his hype has caused him quite a bit of backlash against his entry. Has there ever been a predicted winner received that much hate? I mean it's not his fault that the ESC press/media/odds are hyping his entry and potential win. #poorduncan

This happens every year I think. I'm pretty sure Netta got (and still gets) a lot of hate as well.

Actually I feel that Netta got a lot more hate.

The claims for Duncan's disqualification are stupid by the way. We had the same situation with Jamala and with Alekseev. And Toy is obviously ripped off Seven Nation Army (not imho tho) and still none of these entries got disqualified. And rightly so.

Just start breathing, everyone.

I don't remember if she got so much hate before rehearsals already or not until rehearsals started (and when people fell in love with Eleni's performance and didn't want Netta to beat her).
Tbh I never understood how Toy is a rip off of Seven Nation Army. The two songs sound completely different to me, but I'm no musician.

I'm pretty sure Duncan's gonna be fine though.

The blogger who started it is pathetic. He named the video "The Netherlands will be disqualified for breaking rules". Like, who are you to decide it? EBU?

I understand you Lupus don't worry  , I was the only guy in the world who felt the same about :il: last year, and even now it's hard for me to accept it won the whole thing. I can't even understand why people think it had musical quality.

Well, about "Arcade" I disagree with you. 9.5 out of 10 for me, and it is not a 10 out of 10 because I have a clear favourite. But they really bad in comments
