well that's not new. When a country is in a good position to win it all, suddenly all the country care about Eurovision and the people of that country start to being insufferable on internet.

I still remember some Italian fans in 2017, they weren't really trying to have a bad behavior, it's just that if you just dare to say "Maybe If Italy doesn't win this year" that would trigger their wrath. And once the final ended, they disappeared, literally. And Italy 2017 is just an example, we still have some gremlins here that still brag about their country having a good placement X year.

So i'm almost certain whoever is 1st in the odds, more and more people from that country will register here for example, will post a lot, as the final gets closer they'll be more and more anxious about their country to win, if they loose, they'll disappear like nothing happened (and some of them will think their win was stolen too).

Not trying to say it's bad or it's good, that's not the point. It's just something completely disgusting that we have to deal with each year, it's kind of a downside of being an eurovision fan. At least as you don't think that ALL the people from THAT country are complete dickhead which is obviously not the case. (But I would avoid this thread in late April/May or whoever is his opponent unless you really like talking about the song)

edit : spelling

That happens because if a country is 1st in the odds then usually this goes to news of this country and many people learn about it that are not close fans of ESC!

I think - or hope - those responders are all young children who don't know how to behave on the internet yet and have way too much time on their hands, because I see the same people doing that in every song I have watched so far. But then again, Dutch people respond as harshly when they're saying they don't like the Dutch entry too. Maybe some of us are just plain rude.

They want it to win vert bad, maybe that's why..I know majority of ppl is of course great and nice..but i really got annoyed she had to explain herself for not being Russian, cause they accused her being Russian and that is why she doesn’t want NED to win! Russia is not among her faves lol, she really doesn’t like ballads.. her big faves are Portugal and Iceland…

Of course they want this song to win and that's understandable, but they can't behave like that anyways. And like it was said earlier, these people aren't all dutch.. there are probably people from others countries that just love this song too and want it to win (I actually do). By the way, I think that the Russian song is mediocre and deserves a top 10 at best (because I know that after all, Sergey is going to deliver live). I wouldn't be mad at all if the Netherlands doesn't win because there's plenty of other good songs, but please don't let the winner be Russia. In fact, Portugal or Iceland wouldn't be bad at all.

Haven't posted here in ages, but decided to come back as I love our song this year and this is quite a unique moment for The Netherlands. It has never happened before that we were a pre-rehearsal favorite. Of course everything can change with the staging, as every year there are fan-favorites that fail.

Never heard of Duncan before, but I'm rooting for him. This is the first time since 2012 we are sending an artist who does not already have a big career in The Netherlands. Hopefully Eurovision will be a wonderful start to his career no matter what happens in May.

I'm guessing everyone in the comments of that lady that got harassed for sharing her opinion is from PowNed and co. lol reminds me of crazy comments I used to read there.. Some of them are really mean and uncalled for :/ Dutch people can be very direct and ruthless sometimes but tbh I had grown to like that trait living there, much better than fakeness in Turkey... But yea sometimes it can come off as mean too, which it is in the case of the YT of this lady. Trust me though, those are just some lifeless, angry people that can only express themselves on the internet which is definitely a small minority in NL! I'm surprised to see so many, maybe multiple accounts even it is

I'm sorry but 'm so disapointed wuth some Dutch peole reactin on yt! :(

I got so annoyed and when I saw Dutch fans attacking Ilona youtuber fro not liking Dutch entry (she didn’t say anything bad) I got really mad and sad! :( they even swear to her..

I couldn't believe what they write! :( xcry xcry1 Just because she said she doesn't like it and it is boring for her taste..

Eurovision fans telling other Eurovision fans they've got bad taste? TrollToTheLOLOLOL. There is so much ugliness in the comments box of that video that it makes me feel ashamed to be a Eurovision fan. The irony of attacking someone's taste (their opinion) and then fawning over 3 minutes of heavily calculated woah oh oh indie pop made especially to titillate the masses. A special kind of people who like to tell themselves they're listening to something deep, something weighty, and how that somehow puts their basic-bitch backsides above anyone that doesn't share their high-caliber taste. What a tragedy.

Like what your heart tells you to like, but the cringe levels are high when you start declaring yourself superior. Arcade is not my bag at all, but at the moment I at least tolerate its existence. Going to be hard though with so many unbearable wannabes (hopefully children so that we can forgive their naive souls) hovering around it.

But she even left the space for the song to grow on her ,and said maybe she will like it on the stage in ESC and vote for it....

But I don't participate on Eurovision. I don't need votes to win, therefore I can be boring if I wish ;)

What an insufferable prick! These people aren't behaving like they're confident in the entry; I wish someone would inform them of Spain's recent Eurovision placings.

Honestly, when I heard this first time, I really couldn´t get why it is first in the odds? It said completely nothing to me. But it will probably do very well, especially with the juries but it´s not my cup of tea

Yes, which is precisely why people are unbearable idiots. Christ, if I made a video reaction (don't give me ideas brain) it would be an absolute tonne fricking worse than that, and more would be said than just "it's boring". I'd go deeper. This lady did indeed even say it could grow on her after watching the performance. Youtube is a cesspool. That's why I never comment there and use it strictly for watching stuff.

nobody has better music taste than anyone else because at the end of the day we are all consuming a product that was sold to us. yes, sometimes people pick products you would never pick, but they are not inherently less dignified than yours lol. i say this as someone who shades the entries i don't like the entire time and does little else in this board. my opinions don't make me a better person, just a different one (and it glorifies me that i am different, thank you very much). same for this youtuber. better to have the courage to publicly go against the hype than to anonymously board it.

people are getting way too into the duncan hype for it to be healthy. out of all the top contenders in odds these last few years, he is the most tentative and fickle by far. yes, he might as well win, but it's so far from being a loreen-esque done deal that people will only harm themselves being like this. remember 2012 when pastora was 10th place (spain's best result in 8 years!!) and the spaniards still imploded because they felt entitled to even more just out of their own hype? don't let duncan become a pastora, you guys.
