This is my first place right now. My only fear was that he couldn't deliver the emotion and feelings live. But after seeing this I'm very happy.

I think he will have to need to defeat the 3.00 minutes time to produce such powerful emotion (in a faster beat) and fight his nerves on the big stage.

Yes he must. And judging by this I think he will be successful in doing it.

I guess why this song is hyped to death? This is a cute bland song and i dobut that will take the trophy in Tel Aviv, and if does probably will be one of the boring songs to win ESC after :az: 2011, :ua: 2016 and last year :il: and couldn't be fair for ''The Calm After the Storm'' that was the best :nl: entry to be overtaken for this song.

Only 4 points for me.

The better half from the common Linnets is 100% behind this song and believe in it!
Ilse de Lange was the one who send this song to the selection commite in the Netherlands.
I trust Ilse

I've been thinking it could win for a few days now, but I had no idea it was first in the odds as well. Oh. It's one of the only ones that's super instant and the kind of song to be popular and respected outside of the Eurovision fandom and that is important. I haven't been able to really connect with it though, I fully recognise how good it is and that's hard to ignore, but I don't really feel much towards it even if I simultaneously think it's quite incredible. And I do kinda get when people say it's almost too perfect, sometimes seemingly flawless polished songs lack a certain substance and I feel there's actually not that much there for me once I listen to it repeatedly. Regardless, that first impression is still strong, so it probably does have really good chances, maybe it doesn't completely feel like a winner, but it's the closest we have before we know the stagings imo. It's sitting right outside my top 10 for now, probably would be in my top 5 if it was a different year, because I'm genuinely struggling with wanting ~25 songs in my top 10.

Can anyone explain to me why this is SOOOOO hyped? This year is like 2011, the most unexpected entry will win, and I don't think this is the year for The Netherlands

Tumblr, mostly.
Oh, I don't think it'll win either (Still firmly in my Hatari tunnel), but the draw isn't really the song. It's Duncan's voice. Oh and peaches, I guess.

Because people like it is the simplest answer I can give

This is a serious contender for the win :D

When songs get particularly good reception, they're gonna get more exposure and people place bets. After that point, people's opinions and betting odds continue to fuel each other's hype even more.

I find this song ok, reminds me a bit of a poppier lighter Ben Howard or Hozier perhaps. I don't agree it should win though, I think there are better and more interesting entries but top. 10 could do, best Dutch entry since 2014 and first Dutch entry since that one that I can say I at least like to some extent so good on :nl: xclap

I like some songs from this year, including my country‘s one, but honestly this one is the only one that made me goosebumps from the first listening. So pure and beautiful!!! It is my winner in 2019. xcrossed for Amsterdam 2020

:12: points from me.

This song is exceptionally brilliant, a true masterpiece. It amazes me how Duncan's voice evokes emotions. It's so fragile and powerful at the same time. The song itself is beautiful and haunting and gave me goosebumps when I listened to it for the very first time. It's massive! It's somehow Coldplay-esque and it deserves to win Eurovision. It's pure art.
I will be voting for it in May, for sure!

Guys from the Netherlands , need your help!
One very emotional person here claims that Duncan is very arrogant saying he already won and nobody comes close to him, and as a proof i was given this interview, which is quite useless cause...well, obvious linguistic reason!:

Is there really something about winning Eurovision? How much arrogance does it ooze? Thank you very much in advance!
