Been off for a couple of days, just logging in to say I have a new winner. I'm absolutely in love with this song, with his voice, with the lyrics ("I’m afraid of all I am, my mind feels like a foreign land” LIKE.....) and with everything this made me feel the first time I listened to it. It's been a while since an Eurovision entry made me feel this way and I totally mean it. I just hope you nail the staging but I'm sure he's here to fight for it, and I couldn't be happier.

Yeah I know, I'm not reaally fond of Hans Pannecoucke doing the staging again, as :be: 2018, :nl: 2015 and :es: 2017 were horrible but Calm after the Storm was amazingly staged, so in collaboration with Ilse, who heavily influenced the staging, I'm reassured that it won't be as gruesome as the three I mentioned

Yeah, this feels to me like the quintessential song that becomes a favourite in the odds and ends up finishing second on the night. You know the type - perfectly manufactured, nothing much to criticise, easy jury-bait, but just missing that special something. A Million Voices, Sound of Silence, Beautiful Mess and so on.

exactly my thoughts, second place locked.

Ok it a quality song that can easily qualify but i can't understand this whole winning hype....
Near to 1st place in the odds....Seriously??It will be overrated and maybe it will flop May...
Maybe we have Occidentali's end here and after first rehearsals it will flop...

well, you guys, unless someone really shows up until then, he will be first in the odds on saturday because sergey is FALLING HE IS IN HEAVEN FALLING if the leaked snippets are all real, so we might as well get used to duncan as the top contender right now. definitely a sanna nielsen-esque "i mean i don't even know" top contender though.

I wouldn't mind if its Duncan Laurence vs. Mahmood. I would chose both and not only for musical reasons tbh

Just... wow, this is going straight to my Spotify playlist, it's exactly my genre.

I don't know if it's a winner thought, we should wait to see the full live performance but so far it's not giving me the chills that Calm After The Storm gave me in 2015 (still my favourite Dutch song).

Winning isn't everything though, look at some of the winners, also Calm After the Storm didn't win anyway. I think it's better not to get caught up in any hype, just find what sounds interesting (up to the contest, and then see what lasts after it).

I am surprised by all the comments that this may just win this year contest. It is definitely a quality entry and I am sure Duncan is a competent performer. But there is just something about the song that didn't sit right with me. I do agree this may rival with Italy for the jury votes, but I am not sure if this song has what it takes to push the televoters to vote for it.
I am sure it will qualify, a top 10 or 5 placing, but to win it all, I have still have reservations. Hopefully the 'live' performance will change my view on it. Giving it a 7 as of now.

And also, this song to me, it's like the male version of Austria's entry this year. Both sending in heartfelt songs, but not evoking anything out of me. But The Netherlands' entry is more listenable.

And I know people are comparing to Belgium's entry, but I prefer Belgium's entry so much more.
