Now focus on 2015 :p

Yes:
1. Racoon with a popnumber /
1. Alain clarc Ballad
2. Danny Vera with a Roy Orbison like song
3. Waylon with a soulclassic song
4. Anouk with a hardrock song
5. Armin van Buren, dance

NOOOO:
1. Within Tempation, because there are out of tune screamers enough at ESC
2. The voice or singasongcontesters, because they are boooooooring (except Leona Lewis)

You can discuss this in the thread for 2015! :D

I don't think we should send Anouk, Waylon or Ilse again anytime soon though.

I have searched for videos of their performance tonight for those who want to see it.

I haven't watched all of it, but I heard they may want to go on with The Common Linnets. Is that true?
And it was heart-melting to hear them talk about Eurovision and everything! I especially liked the part were they talked about their feelings when writing songs.

Well, because of all the success and the huge demand for their album being released in other countries at the moment they see this as a big opportunity so why stop now?
Both agreed they would like to continue it. :D

I also think they should stay and perform together for a while and not leave it like that and go back to their solo careers too soon.
Reason why Ilse got emotional was because she always wanted to make a breakthrough outside of the Netherlands as well and tried very hard for many years to find labels who would release her music.
But now the offers came in flying! It would do both of their careers no harm and they can keep playing the country music they so adore for a bigger audience than they ever could do before performing solo.

The physical album seems to be sold out everywhere and the record company is working overtime, I heard. It won't be long before it hits platinum or double platinum status here :p

O believed in this song from the very begining, so I am glad I was right. Second place is great success.
Hope that you Dutch guys will stay on this level on ESC

The last time Netherlands finished in top 5 before TCL was 1998 when Edsilia came 4th with "Hemel en Aarde"

So you really deserved this great result

That was the biggest surprise for me. Not an unpleasant one, I have to say, though the song doesn't touch me deeply. But it's nice to listen to and I'm so happy that the Netherlands finally got a good result after all these years where they bravely stayed in the contest and did't let them be decouraged by bad results.

I never had a too high opinion of the entry (even though it was always OK), but the performance was really impressive, and it made me fix the opinion about the song a lot. Maybe the result was a bit too high, but it was deserved, as they managed to do it with the song only, and I salute them for that :D

Other than that, I am also really glad that :nl: is back on track :D

I actually liked this song initially, so I'm not going to be one of those who jumps on a bandwagon just because it went on being successful in ESC. However, I am a bit surprised it ended up THAT high. I believed the juries would save it, but I wasn't too sure about the televoters.

But then again, its success with televoters shows that juries are a waste of time and space.

Congrats Netherlands! I much preferred this one to Anouk's entry last year. I guess Netherlands find a formula for choosing entries now.
