But in Melanie’s case it makes sense since it’s a forced smile. At the same time it looks so real, I‘m loving her energy so much. Don’t know why people are hyping Loreen for her non-existing energy. Anyways, whatever, I have two really smiley powerful women to listen to (Melanie, Mariette) whose songs and performances touch my heart more than anything ever from Loreen. So let Loreen win Melfest; at this point I don’t care any longer.

And Yohanna smiling makes sense too. I didn’t feel she was grinning, rather a sad smile, desperate because she had been lied to, a sigh of disappointment. Funny how differently it is perceived.

I did understand the lyrics as „fake a smile on the outside“ so the smile‘s supposed to be tragic and desperate but at the same time she "fakes" it so beautifully and the bright smile looks so good on her. I like her simple but so strong performance a lot. She spreads that joy we all should have for real instead of faking and ironically it looks so real.
It’s not a fake smile. The song is about ”we love each other, current circumstances we can’t be together but I celebrate that we found each other rather than mourn that we can’t be together in this moment”. Tumblr girl explanation: smile because it happened

I honestly think Loreen will win both the juries and the televote. The hype around her is crazy and that performance is honestly on another level. I wouldn't mind Marcus and Martinus ("Air" is massively addicting), and they probably have the 12 points from the two lower groups on lock, but I'm not buying them doing that well with the older groups and I still question Swedes voting for a Norwegian act to represent them at Eurovision. Maria feels like old news and girl's hype doesn't seem to be anywhere near Tusse or Anders. Honestly, at this point, would be surprised if anyone other than Loreen won.
Swedes may not send two Norwegians to Eurovision. But Norway would quite easily send two Swedes... This is a difference in our cultures, I think. Maybe M & M would prove that wrong, but as a Norwegian I feel so close to my Swedish brothers it wouldn't even feel that strange to have one or more Swedes representing us. Happened before. Many Norwegians speak good (or bad ) Swedish, we all understand Swedish easily. It's not always the same the other way around.

Anyways, my clear favorite Six feet under will not win. I just love it! Finally Sweden has quality rock (not the "schlager rock" or "classic rock" which I don't care for). This sounds like something from the Finnish or Norwegian music scene (outside ESC).

Still not entirely sold on Tattoo but Loreen winning ten editions after winning before would be a really nice story
Ya, true; this is the 10th edition after 2012 because 2020 hadn't taken place. I can see this as the whole winner, but I fear Swedes will ditch her for M&M or Maria or something else; it would be the pinnacle of the "favourites messing" happening this year.

Nah, maybe M&M will get 2-3 points more from the televote due to the stupid age system SVT has, but from what I can tell Sweden is embracing Loreen right now the way we saw with Tusse, John Lundvik, Frans etc. Ain't no way M&M will beat Loreen in the jury vote.

Also, I am 90% sure Smash Into Pieces, not M&M, will be the runner-up in the televote after Loreen

Sent this to my friend this morning and declared that I now have a massive crush on Loreen. The woman is just zen and positivity - I need that in my life xpray
Same !

I was not following Eurovision when Loreen won in 2012, so i didn't know her that much and had no idea of her personality. But I realized yesterday how gentle and sweetheart is Loreen when she talked in the interview about the stage invader. The dude literally ruined her first attempt of performance but she didn't care and she was even really compassionate about the cause this activist tried to defend.

I've discovered a talented, polite, kind and very mature person. I don't think, as a song, Tattoo will be my favourite this year but if she wins but i would be fine with her winning, and it would also be a great publicity for Eurovision, to show that quality and great stageshow can still win no matter the geopolitical context.

I'm just sad she's not yet a singer worldwide known singer and not known only in the nordic countries + in the Eurovision bubble. She deserves more appreciation.

By their last name, at first I assumed that M&M were Danish?
-sen can be either Danish or Norwegian (-son in Sweden/Iceland), but Gunnarsen is probably way more common in Norway than Denmark. I’m imagining a Dane saying Gunnarsen, and it just feels wrong. Has a better ring to it in Norwegian.

Tattoo is trending #7 on Youtube here in Finland. I have a gut feeling this will be the Swedish entry this year... The staging is cool, dystopic and airy, Loreen is great performer and singer but the song itself isn't that great, great, for me - a bit bland... We'll see what happens.

If you watch Melanie's postcard or any other moment during the show, you'll see that she is just a smily person. An absolute ray of sunshine 🌞

I know - that’s because I love her performance so much. That’s why I wrote it looks so real (because it IS real). Whatever the message of the song is - and it can be interpreted in many ways - she is such an energetic bouncy ball. For me she‘s the best performer in Melfest so far!
Mariette ist good too, I love her energy as well, but everything of her is a bit more staged.
