I know this basically is a Loreen appreciation thread at this point, but I have to ask - are there any other #TeamSmashIntoPieces people here? I think Loreen just overshadowed everyone else in the competition with her popularity, but to be fair "Six Feet Under" is just phenomenal!
YES IT IS.

You should apply for a spot at SVT with the amount of but kissing you do to them.

I just respect and appreciate Swedens hard Work and Professionality.
I wish more Countries would be as enthusiastic about Eurovision like Sweden.

If Mellfest did a 2 semi 1 final selection with the last 16 songs it'd be a solid selection ngl.

But then how would we get entries like Evwas and Laurell Barker?

This MF is so incredible good, now that the Heats are over and the Fillers are eliminated.
I wish :se: could divide into several Regions and send 6-7 Songs to Eurovision.

I agree, the final turned out nice, Loreen and M&M are awesome, Smash into pieces good, Maria Sur, Jon Henrik, Kiana, Tone, Panetoz, Paul Rey are fine.
And lets not forget that the aim of Melfest is to find that one song... you cant say that Melfest 23 is weak when you have Loreen breaking Melfest records.

Apparently Mika Newton from Ukraine (ESC 2011) thinks, Loreen copied an older song from her. She claims even her performance was identical (I don’t know where she got that from; I don’t know Mika‘s performance). I admit the chorus is really pretty similar. Though this is an ordinary chain of chords, it could be accidentally. On the other side, I read that Mika‘s song was called "imprisoned“ or something like that and Loreen‘s staging reminds me of her being trapped between the plates…

Chords don't matter as much here, the same melody with basically the same notes and note lengths is the more striking part. But you often have these juxtapositions in songs, where the melody goes up and the chords go lower, so pretty sure those similarities are by pure accident

She has insane possession issues. She complained that :md: 2019 dared to use the same sand artist as her

Controversial but I thought the sand artist did a better job for Moldova...

Everything has been done before blablabla. I don’t even think Loreen would claim the song structure is anything super unique but rather a canvas for her artistry

The compared part literally sounds like a coverversion. The question would be - how much of the rest ist that similar. If that's the only part - not much will happen.
For german speakers (and probably there's also a french version somewhere on the french ARTE-Website), there is a pretty interesting documentary on this phenomena on ARTE. Especially interesting is the part about interpolation as a tool for songwriting. The one who explains it is Youtuber Luxxury. who really knows what he's talking about.

Oh, I don’t think anything will happen at all, after all we even had a whole Eurovision song covered in another year (Belgium 1996 - Sweden 2001).

I was just surprised because everyone praised and hyped Tattoo and it’s nothing spectacular after all (especially listening to Mika‘s song now). I just wonder why she claimed Loreen did even the same performance as her.

Anyways, I have never liked Tattoo much, but now I think of it as even more overrated.
Not that I want Loreen DQ or anything, I mean, she makes a lot of ppl happy so why should I. Not that it would happen anyway; see my first sentence.

It's a bit embarassing that she posted a clip where Loreen sounds so much better live than she does in an edited studio recording 😬

It's just a cute little song with lots of stage fog and expensive visuals. Good enough for my Top 5 at the moment, but no competition with France, Slovenia, Czechia and Finland, which add the salt and pepper this year to the competition at this point. Air would give me a headache, because I don't know how to break a tie between 5 songs. Maria Sur would also give me a heache, because I don't know how to break a tie between 20 songs I don't like.
