Does Laurell know that she is 43 years old?
What about it? You wouldn’t say that about Cazzi Opeia. Or maybe you would

On another note. Nordman sounds fantastic. ESC fans just enjoy whining because here you have an ethnic Swedish folkrock song

Even though I don´t think that heat 3 is great, it´s clearly an upgrade to heat 1 & 2.
Nordman actually sounds good, I would like to hear the entry in the final again!

Unironically, I think that the Norwegian twink´s song ain´t bad, either - I´ll just keep my fingers cross for Loreen to smash all the other contestants. I don´t really believe in Mariette since every time she competes at Melfest, the quality of her entries significantly decreases.

Quite a decent heat - can´t wait to find out who´s going to qualify!

I....actually like Marcus and Martinus? At this point only Loreen can beat it. Good lord.
Marcus & Martinus are only there for promotion. Right now Maria Sur is the runawa winner but we still haven't heard the apparent strong heat 4 songs yet.

I can’t get enough was my favourite song in the final last year but if she had performed it as 43 years old I would have raised an eyebrow for sure, Cazzi was like 32 last year it’s not a good comparison especially
given that her song was actually good

Guess I’m a misogynist and “ageist” for thinking someone in their forties is a bit cringe for singing;

I was bouncin' with my homies
Twistin' up the rollies
Linin' up the grey goose yeah
I ain't even started drinkin'
I'm already trippin'
On ya

How about we just don't ageshame people? What you consider appropriate for a 43 year old is something you just made up and now expect other people to fit into that mold.

(The staging still looks cringy, don't get me wrong.)

There is no such thing as age shaming don’t be absurd

I won't have a discussion about semantics, when the thing I took issue with is this idea that age should dictate you how to dress and what you are allowed to enjoy and sing about. That judgement is indeed very real, no matter how you want to call it.

Im not being funny she is the same age as Gustaph can you imagine what people would think if Gustaph was singing about bouncing with his homies and had staging like this?? People would rightfully go thats a bit weird Gustaph you are in your 40s

Those people need to touch grass and should enjoy life a bit more. Especially in times when we are facing one crisis after the other, we should just let go and have a bit more fun. You can wear bold colors beyond 40 and take drugs.
And I don't know why you mention Gustaph as if he isn't judged for his weird outfit. I don't think ageshaming (or how you want to call it) is a womens issue only. Men get judged for enjoying certain things as well. And I don't think that's right.

My main issue with the staging is that her styling is just bad. The pants don't fit, her hair looks like a wig, the costumes of the dancers look really cheap and why is this so furry themed? Like these cheap ass dyed IKEA furs?! It's supposed to represent hallucinations and being high and all but it's giving Five Nights at Freddy's. Well and the song itself is just cringe. But that all would still be cringe if Malou Prytz would do it (Bananas was cringe as hell). Age doesn't matter.

It's not ethnic and it's barely even folk or rock compared to their old stuff. If anything it's as mainstream as most other entries this year.

As if that's not awesome, and probably intentional.

I mean this doesn't really matter when it comes to what people vote for. Most people vote for the ones who they want to represent us in Eurovision, they are quite known here so if people like the song and performance they will vote for it even if they're not in it to win it.

I mention Gustaph because they are the same age, Gustaphs outfit is seen as a bit eccentric by many but not for reasons of not fitting his age.

We aren't going to agree here but Im sure the consensus on here on Sunday is that Sober will look very weird for someone in the 40s, her gender has absolutely nothing to do with being cringey id be saying the exact same thing if it were a man singing a song like sober with the same staging and styling at the age of 43.

Why do some eurofans get so weird about women, not everything is misogyny!

What happened to Melodifestivalen stage?

Until 2019, it was competing with Eurovision, but now it's just a generic national final stage.

Didn't you get the memo? This line has changed to "the shots" as SVT is not allowing advertising.

You’re missing the point of Gustaph then, he and his song is about ”this is me, this is us, we love it, deal with it”. Just keep your social conservative opinions to yourself. Eurovision isn’t the place to shame an artist for being different to the norm

My socially conservative opinions? You dont know anything about me, i am not in the slightest bit conservative either socially or economic but feel free to make assumptions about my world view and ideology just because I thought Laurell is being very cringe at 43 years old, if you wanna be bouncing with your homies at 43 be my guest but youre going to sound ridiculous

Cherine's staging was "different from the norm" at eurosong, it recieved almost universial criticism for being cringe and junior eurovision-like for the performance of the song by a 29 year old that doesnt make the people who didnt like it socially conservative, seriously listen to yourself
