If SWI ends higher than SWE with these vocals ESC is officially DEAD and those "professionals" ! :? xshrug

Luca won german Idol, whats your Problem with Lucas Vocals?
Anyway I expect SWE to get more Jurypoints that SWI, but I wouldnt be surprised if yet SWI gets more, since his Song has much more Hit-Potential.

iceland has passed sweden in some odds markets. sweden is slowly but surely drifting more and more. memba i told you sending john was a risk out of similarity to other contenders. sweden will need to at least change his staging to shift the narrative in their favour.

We all know that the odds in March really tell us the whole outcome in May...

BTW, I didn´t know, it were more gospel acts this year.

Come on, try at least to come with realistic arguments if you are not liking us, this is just pathetic

Luca won German Idol despite of his vocals. He was by far the worst singer until then who won German Idol. Since his victory, German Idol lost its credibility completely. His voice is thin and he sang like a whimpering puppy. Pre-teen girls voted for him and ousted much better singers.

i love how people conspire against Sweden every year but whenever their own favorites do well it's okay
i mean, be humble and admit that the song/performance/singer had merits despite the fact you didn't think so

imagine you were a jury member and you ranked the songs from 1-26 and then people would tell you that you're so wrong because you didn't put that song so high on the list or you put that song second to last etcetera... - i wonder how people would react if that occured?

i actually like john and that's why i am observing that sweden is slipping, and last year that did end up being bad for them. and this is exactly why - no lessons are learned because everyone goes LA LA LA THIS MEANS NOTHING. my argument is very realistic, thank you very much. if john shows up the exact same way he did in melfest, it's very possible he doesn't stand out, because he isn't standing out right now. and this song doesn't deserve that. i didn't endure years of sweden doing well with the bad songs to see them do not as well with the good ones lol.

Sweden is top 4 with the bookies right now and odds always goes up and down before the actual contest begins, the odds will be more interesting when the rehearsals starts.

As for Johns performance I don´t think there will be any problems to stand out to be honest, the song as well the performance is so uplifting and positive and Johns voice and stage presence is amazing.
Also remember it will be the first time people watch this when they see it in Semi 2, most of the viewers have not watch it on Youtube before.
But of course you can always improve something and I´m sure John will do that.

If we look at the countries in the top 5 right now it is only Sweden that we know for a fact will deliver a live performance worthy a top score.
The others is based on their studio versions and we don´t know at all how this will look or work on the stage.

For example I´m not sure at all :nl: will work that good on the stage and will :ch: deliver vocally?
:ru: will probably have great of stageshow but will it be enough to convice the juries?

Of course it is very early and you can´t be sure of anything but I do think we will be in the top 5 this year, and maybe we have chance to win.

But to be honest I don´t think anyone here in Sweden demand a win every other year. First of all we need to qualify from the semi and then if we manage top 5-10 in the final people here will be pleased.

With that said I think SVT and Björkman really want to equal Ireland before Christer retires.

I see this doing pretty good with televoting also.
I heard a lot of people saying this will flop at tvt like Benjamin. Song is much more public friendly, and you can buy it on first listening. About jury, they will like it, no doubt. They will have 280+ points on jury vote.
Potential winner? Yes

So far only Rybak, Loreen, Mans, Dami and Salvador had 280+ points with juries. You are setting the bar extremely high.

The only thing I'm f***ing, is stupid

If 2015 had 43 jury groups minus the country giving the points (it actually was 38 that year), Russia would have got 265 points of 504 possible. It's really close to Austria's & Sweden's 2018 jury results. Even if the bar is pretty high, bland songs can reach these numbers. John might get around 220-270 from the juries, but it depends how the competition will fare live in May.

Lack of jury friendly songs this year, remember Austria success last year. Plus - this is Sweden. Juries like exactly this kind of stuff

The correct title should actually be The Mamas ft John Lundvik - Too Late for Love (you need to watch the performance to judge it)

Exactly, without them, the performance wouldn´t have been near as magical as it now is

It would be more like Austria last year for me then - enjoyable but not really something I'd vote for
I really hope Sweden does better in televote this year so people can stop raving all the time about Benjamin's televote result and the discrepancies between jury/televote

There is no doubt that John Lundvik will do better with the televote compared to Benjamin (and I will be very happy for him)... Which is the precise reason why I will keep "raving about Benjamin's televote result"... Because his jury vote is just outrageous and will still be, even after 20 years of time and possibly another 3 deserved Swedish victories.

I do think that we will do better in the televote this year, hopefully it can be enough to reach top 10 (:lt: got 10th place in televote last year only by recieving points from 11 countries)

I won't say anything for sure because I wasn't prepared at all that Benjamin would bomb such with the televote - but I think it looks good for John. I agree that a huge discrepeancy between juries and televote doesn't really look good, but I guess there will always be cases every year once this happens, so I think people gotta be fair and start highlighting other acts who do way better with the juries than the televote - like I haven't seen many people react to Netherlands 17 despite the huge difference lol

That being said - I think Benjamin's the one with the highest discrepeancy in the history and he represented Sweden so I get why this is a big case around these boards lol :p

I think last year suffered from being too polished - too professional - too perfect - a bit like I've heard journalists say about Isaiah 2017 with other acts
This year feels genuine with a lot of positive energy from John and the Mamas :D
I just wished he didn't do the same move all the time, but I'm willing to neglect the fact for John and the Mamas...
